M4 MOTORWAY – JUNCTIONS 10 TO 11

TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS

Notice is hereby given that National Highways Limited intends to make an Order on the M4 Motorway in the Unitary Authorities of Reading and Wokingham under Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 because works are proposed to be executed on the road by contractors working on behalf of SSEN.

The effect of the Order would be to authorise the total weekend closure of: -

a) both carriageways of the M4 between Junction 10 (A329(M)) and Junction 11 (A33/B3270); and

b) all the roads leading to and from the above lengths of carriageway.

These measures would be in the interests of road safety while contractors undertake high voltage cabling replacement and all associated works.

It is expected that the works would occur between Friday 18th September starting at 21:00 hours and Monday 21st September at 06:00 hours.

The Order would come into force on 16th September 2026 and have a maximum duration of eighteen months, ceasing when the works are complete.

Traffic affected by the closures would be diverted using the A329(M) and B3270 in either direction.

The temporary closures and diversion routes would be clearly indicated by traffic signs when they are in operation during the works period.

I Rosendaal, an Official of National Highways Limited.
