The Borough Council of Sandwell (Lewisham Street, West Bromwich)
(Temporary Road Closure) Order 2026 intends to temporarily prohibit vehicles from proceeding along Lewisham Street, West Bromwich, which will be closed from the junction of Hallam Street to the access road (eastern side) for the Sandwell General Hospital Physio Therapy Unit. Access to any affected frontages will be maintained but only when safety permits. A traffic diversion route will be signed via Hallam Street, Cottrell Street, St Clements Lane, Stoney Lane & vice versa. The maximum duration is 18 months, but the work is expected to be completed by 29/09/2026, effective from 01/09/2026 (24hr). Purpose – to facilitate access for gas main replacement works by Cadent Gas Ltd.
