SPRINGFIELD AVENUE, KEMPSTON 26 – 109

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Bedford Borough Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Springfield Avenue, Kempston.

This temporary road closure is required for drainage investigation and repair and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs.

This temporary road closure is anticipated to be in operation 09:00 to 17:00 hours from 28th September 2026 to 30th September 2026

The signed alternative route for vehicles affected by the order is available via Margetts Road, Kempston Urban Bridleway 12, Bedford Road, Bunyan Road, Elstow Road.

The reverse route applies.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Bedford Borough Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along Mill Road, Sharnbrook, approx.10m west of entrance to no 45 the Milestones and approx. 20m east of junction Lower Furlong.

This temporary road closure is required to replace two decayed telegraph poles and rehang associated cabling and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs.

This temporary road closure is anticipated to be in operation 09:00 to 16:00 hours 20th September 2026

The signed alternative route for vehicles affected by the order is available via Templars Way, Rushden Road, C26 Bletsoe From A6 Rushden Road Sharnbrook to Uc33 Mill Road Thurleigh, Mill Road.

The reverse route applies.

This temporary road closure is required for a CCTV drainage survey and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs.

WHITE LANE, YELNOW LANE AND PART OF FORTY FOOT LANE
(BYWAYS OPEN TO ALL TRAFFIC)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF
THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2023

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Order made by Bedford Borough Council on 18th August 2023, extended on 16th February 2024, 16th August 2024, 14th February 2025, 8th July 2025 and 29th July 2026 the effect of which will be to prohibit All users from proceeding along the following lengths of byway for a period of one year:

WHITE LANE (part of Odell BOAT No 2): from its junction with Odell Road, Harrold at OS GRSP 9511- 5822 for approx 1540m to its junction with Yelnow Lane at OSGR SP 9522-5958.

YELNOW LANE (Odell BOAT No 4): from its junction with White Lane at OSGR SP9526-5968 for approx 2830m to the UC298 Yelnow Lane, Sharnbrook at OSGR SP 9770-5943.

FORTY FOOT LANE (1) (part of Odell BOAT No 34) from its junction with the C15 at OSGR SP9321-5966 for approx 1330m to Forty Acre Wood at OSGR SP 94416018 has been continued in force with the approval of the Secretary of State for Transport until 23rd August 2027.

This temporary closure is required to prevent damage surface to the lane. The closure will continue from Monday 24th August 2026 for up to one year. There is no alternative route for users while the closure is in operation.

The Order will come into operation on 24th August 2026 for a period not exceeding one year or until the works which it is proposed to carry out on or near to the byways have been completed, whichever is the earlier. If the works are not completed within one year the Order may be extended for a longer period with the consent of the Secretary of State for Transport.
