What is happening?

THE SURREY COUNTY COUNCIL

(Various Roads in Spelthorne) (Laleham Village) (20mph Speed Limit Zone) Order 202-

On 7 August 2026 Surrey County Council proposed to make the above-named Order, under section 84 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) and of all other enabling powers, the effect of which will be to impose a 20mph speed limit on the lengths of roads specified and described in Schedule 1 to this Notice, which will be signed as a 20mph zone and to revoke the existing 40mph speed limit Order in the length of road specified in Schedule 2 to this Notice.

The Notice stated that any objections or other representations relating to the proposed Order should be made by 4 September 2026. The Council has now extended the period within which objections or representations may be made. If you wish to object to, or make representations relating to, the proposed Order, you must send the grounds for your objection or representation (including any in support) by (1) using the online form via the webpage quoted above; or (2) in writing to the undersigned at Hazel House, Merrow Lane, Guildford, Surrey, GU4 7BQ by 11 September 2026.

A copy of the proposed Order together with the plan showing the lengths of road to which this Order relates and a Statement of the Council’s reasons for proposing to make the Order may be viewed online at www.surreycc.gov.uk/roadsand- transport/policies-plans-consultations/roads-and-transportconsultations. These documents and a copy of the proposed Order may also be viewed at (i) Reception, Surrey County Council, Hazel House, Merrow Lane, Guildford, Surrey, GU4 7BQ, Monday to Friday 9am to 4pm; (ii) Spelthorne Borough Council, Knowle Green, Stainesupon- Thames, TW18 1XB during normal opening hours; (iii) Staines Library, Elmsleigh Centre, Unit MSU 2, Staines-upon-Thames, TW18 4QB during normal opening hours; and (iv) Shepperton Library, High Street, Shepperton, TW17 9AU during normal opening hours; and (v) Ashford Library, Church Road, Ashford, TW15 2XB.

Schedule 1 (20mph zone)

1. that length of Shepperton Road (B376) Laleham/Shepperton from its junction with B376 The Broadway to a point 8m south-east of Lamp Column N20;

2. that length of The Broadway (B376) Laleham from its junction with (B376) Shepperton Road to its junction with B376 Staines Road and B377 The Broadway;

3. that length of The Broadway (B377) Laleham from its junction with B376 Shepperton Road and B376 The Broadway to its junction with B377 Ashford Road;

4. that length of Ashford Road (B377) Laleham which extends from its junction with B377 The Broadway (adjacent to Lamp Column N11) to a point in-line with the south-western property boundary line of No.1 Grange Place (adjacent to Lamp Column N3 on Ashford Road);

5.that length of Staines Road (B376) Laleham which extends from its junction with B376/B377 The Broadway to a point 64m south-east from the centreline of its junction with Beech Tree Lane;

6. that length of Thames Side (D3314) Laleham which extend from its junction with D3311 Ferry Lane to its junction with D3313 Vicarage Lane;

8. the entire length of Ferry Lane (D3311) Laleham;

9. the entire length of Grange Place (D3312) Laleham;

10. the entire length of Blacksmiths Lane (D3313) Laleham;

11. the entire length of Vicarage Lane (D3313) Laleham.

Schedule 2 (Restricted Roads)

1. Ashford Road (B377) Laleham from its current terminal point adjacent to Lamp Column N14 to a point 54m north-east of the centreline of its junction with X2056 New Farm Close, a total distance of 131m.
