HERTFORDSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL

(Temporary Closing Of The Access Road Leading To ‘Clarence Park’, St Albans) Order 2026
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the access road leading to ‘Clarence Park’, St Albans from its junction with Clarence Road north westwards for a distance of approximately 16m ("the Road"), except for access.
There is no alternative route available, but access will be maintained wherever possible throughout the duration of the works.

The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

The Order will come into effect from 7 September 2026 and will be valid for a period of 18 months. The works are scheduled to take 4 days to complete and will only take effect on the days and times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(Temporary Closing Of Barley Mow Lane, St Albans) - Order No.2 2026
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Barley Mow Lane, St Albans from a point 406m south west of its junction with Colney Heath Lane south westwards, south eastwards and south westwards to its junction with Woodrake Lane, a distance of approximately 220m ("the Road"), except for access.
An alternative route will be via Barley Mow Lane, Colney Heath Lane, A414 North Orbital Road, Highfield Lane, Tyttenhanger Lane and Barley Mow Lane.

The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

The Order will come into effect from 7 September 2026 and will be valid for a period of 18 months. The works are scheduled to take 19 days to complete and will only take effect on the days and times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(Temporary Closing And Waiting Restrictions On Various Roads In St Albans) Order No.5 2026
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following lengths of roads ("the Roads"), except for access and to prohibit all vehicles from waiting at any time on both sides of these lengths of Roads whilst works are in progress:-
1. that length of Butt Field View, St Albans from its junction with Robert Avenue south eastwards, north eastwards and north westwards to its junction with Gillian Avenue, a distance of approximately 543m.
An alternative route will be via Robert Avenue, Warren Road and Gillian Avenue.

2. that length of Campfield Road, St Albans from its junction with Camp Road north eastwards and eastwards to its junction with Hedley Road, a distance of approximately 578m.
An alternative route will be via Camp Road, Ashley Road and Hedley Road.

3. that length of Upton Avenue, St Albans from its junction with Selby Avenue north eastwards, south eastwards and south westwards to its junction with Russell Avenue, a distance of approximately 94m.
An alternative route will be via Selby Avenue, Britton Avenue and Russell Avenue.

The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Roads.

The Order will come into effect on 7 September 2026 and will be valid for a period of 18 months. The works are scheduled to take 5 days to complete and will only take effect on the days and times indicated by signs on or near the Roads.

(Temporary Closing And Waiting Restrictions On Marford Road, Wheathampstead) Order 2026
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Marford Road, Wheathampstead from its junction with B651 High Street south eastwards to its junction with the B653 Cory Wright Way roundabout, a distance of approximately 1310m ("the Road").
An alternative route will be via B651 (High Street/Station Road) and B653 (Marford Road/Cory Wright Way).
Additionally, all vehicles are prohibited from waiting at any time on both sides of this length of Road, whilst works are in progress.

The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

The Order will come into effect from 7 September 2026 and will be valid for a period of 18 months. The works are scheduled to take 19 days to complete and will only take effect on the days and times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Coursers Road, Colney Heath from its junction with the Tollgate Road/ High Street roundabout south westwards, south eastwards and south westwards to its junction with Ridge Public Bridleway No.006, a distance of approximately 1652m ("the Road"), except for access.
An alternative route will be via Tollgate Road, Dixons Hill Road, A1000 (Great North Road/High Street), B55 (Mutton Lane/Cecil Road/St Albans Road/Ridge Hill), A1081 Bell Link Overbridge and Coursers Road.

The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

The Order will come into effect from 9 September 2026 and will be valid for a period of 18 months. The works are scheduled to take 1 day to complete and will only take effect on the days and times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(Temporary Closing Of Various Roads In St Albans, Smallford, Bushey And Harpenden) Order 2026
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following lengths of roads ("the Roads"), except for access:-
1. that length of Highfield Park Drive, St Albans from its junction with the A1081 London Road roundabout north eastwards to its junction with the Nightingale Lane roundabout, a distance of approximately 460m.
An alternative route will be via A1081 London Road, Drakes Drive, Camp Road, Hill End Lane, Highfield Lane and Highfield Park Lane.

2. that length of Hill End Lane/Nightingale Lane, St Albans from its junction with Frobisher Road south westwards, south eastwards, north eastwards and south eastwards to its junction with the Highfield Park Drive roundabout, a distance of approximately 466m.
An alternative route will be via Highfield Park Drive, Highfield Lane and Hill End Lane.

3. that length of Oaklands Lane, Smallford from its junction with A1057 Hatfield Road north westwards and south westwards to its junction with Coopers Green Lane, a distance of approximately 1502m.
An alternative route will be via A1057 Hatfield Road, A1081 St Peters Street, B651 Stonecross and Sandpit Lane.

4. that length of Primrose Gardens, Bushey from its junction with School Lane north eastwards for its entire length.
There is no alternative route available, but access will be maintained wherever possible throughout the duration of the works.

5. that length of School Lane, Bushey from its junction with A411 Sparrows Herne south eastwards and south westwards to its junction with Merry Hill Road, a distance of approximately 496m.
An alternative route will be via A411 Sparrows Herne and Merry Hill Road.

6. that length of Tyttenhanger Green, St Albans from its junction with Highfield Lane north eastwards to its junction with Barley Mow Lane, a distance of approximately 38m.
An alternative route will be via Highfield Lane, Hill End Lane, Colney Heath Lane and Barley Mow Lane.

7. that length of Westfield Road, Harpenden from its junction with B653 Lower Luton Road south westwards to its junction with Coldharbour Lane, a distance of approximately 91m.
An alternative route will be via B653 Lower Luton Road, B652 Station Road, Coldharbour Lane and Westfield Road.

The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Roads.

The Order will come into effect from 24 August 2026 and will be valid for a period of 18 months. The works are scheduled to take 3 days to complete and will only take effect on the days and times indicated by signs on or near the Roads.

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Sandridgebury Lane, St Albans from a point 498m north east of its junction with Valley Road north eastwards for a distance of approximately 400m ("the Road"), except for access.
An alternative route will be via Sandridgebury Lane, A1081 Harpenden Road, Beech Road, B651 (St Albans Road/High Street) and Sandridgebury Lane.

The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Barncroft Way, St Albans from its junction with Cell Barnes Lane north eastwards, north westwards and south westwards for its entire length ("the Road").
There is no alternative route available, but access will be maintained wherever possible throughout the duration of the works.

The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

The Order will come into effect from 24 August 2026 and will be valid for a period of 18 months. The works are scheduled to take 2 days to complete and will only take effect on the days and times indicated by signs on or near the Road.
