The reason for the closure is for water pipe installation works.

The road is expected to be closed from 08:00hrs on 11th August 2026 until 16:00hrs on 14th August 2026 only. However, if the said works are not completed by this date the Order may remain in force for up to eighteen months or until the said works have been completed, whichever is sooner.

TEMPORARY CLOSURE AND RESTRICTION OF ROAD AND FOOTWAY 490491 IMPERIAL CIRCUS(COLLEGE WARD) CHELTENHAM BOROUGH

Gloucestershire County Council, as traffic authority, has made an Order under the relevant provisions of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) to temporarily close and restrict part of 490491 Imperial Circus from its junction with Pittville Street to its junction with Clarence Street for a distance of approximately 300 metres. 

The reason for the said closure and restriction is for works to replace a glazed unit which will require the use of equipment such as a Mobile Elevating Work Platform (MEWP).

There will be no stopping or waiting permitted throughout the duration of the works.

The said road is expected to be closed and restricted between 08:00 and 16:00 on the 23rd August 2026 and 30th August 2026. 

However, if the said works are not completed by this date the Order may remain in force for up to eighteen months or until the said works have been completed, whichever is sooner.

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OR PUBLIC FOOTPATH EUL 20
(UPTON ST LEONARDS PARISH) STROUD DISTRICT

NOTICE is hereby given that the Secretary of State for Transport has further extended the Order to close temporarily under Sections 14, 15 and 16 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984 (as amended) part of public footpath EUL 20 from its junction with Public Footpath EUL 24 and then extends in a generally south easterly direction for approximately 100 metres. 

The footpath falls in Upton St Leonards Parish in the Stroud District and in the County of Gloucestershire;

The closure is necessary to safeguard the health and safety of the public due to an unsafe M5 footbridge.

This temporary closure Order came into force on the 30th March 2026 and was expected to end on the 9th September 2026. However, the works have still not been completed and the Secretary of State has granted an extension until 9th March 2028 or until the works are complete, whichever is earliest.

Alternative Route – Not available. Emergency and Pedestrian access to adjoining premises is to be maintained.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Secretary of State for Transport has extended the Order to close temporarily under Sections 14, 15 and 16 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984 (as amended) part of Public Footpath ASO 7 in the Parish of Stoke Orchard from its junction with Bozard Lane and then extending in a generally south westerly direction for approximately 90 metres.

The said Public Footpath falls within the Parish of Stoke Orchard in the Tewkesbury Borough, within the County of Gloucestershire.

The said closure is necessary to safeguard the public whilst solar farm construction works are completed.

This temporary closure Order came into force on the 18th April 2024 but as works were still ongoing, the Secretary of State granted an extension of the Order until 17th April 2025, and then subsequently to 17th August 2026. 

Works are still continuing, and therefore the Secretary of State has granted a further extension until 17th April 2027 or until the completion of the works, whichever is the earlier.
