TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF FOOTPATH 2, ACTON

Suffolk County Council intends to make an Order closing Footpath 2, Acton from Melford Road for 165 metres northbound to facilitate resurfacing works. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

The diversion route will be Footpath 30 from Barrow Hill to Acton Village Hall and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 01/09/2026 - 25/09/2026 but, if necessary, the Order may remain in force for 6 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE B1075 FOXHALL ROAD, IPSWICH

Suffolk County Council intends to make an Order closing the B1075 Foxhall Road, Ipswich from the junction with Back Hamlet to the junction with Ruskin Road to facilitate a highway improvement project. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion routes will be:

• Clockwise - the B1075 Grove Lane, the A1156 St Helens Street, the A1156 St Margarets Street, the A1071 Woodbridge Road, the A1071 Woodbridge Road East, the A1214 Woodbridge Road East, the A1189 Heath Road, the B1075 Foxhall Road with no vice versa.

• Anti-clockwise - the B1075 Foxhall Road, the A1189 Heath Road, the A1214 Woodbridge Road East, the A1071 Woodbridge Road East, the A1071 Woodbridge Road, the A1156 Argyle Street, the B1075 St Helens Street, the B1075 Grove Lane, the B1075 Foxhall Road with no vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 31/08/2026 - 09/10/2026 from 7pm - 6am. If necessary, the Order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE AND PROHIBITION OF WAITING ON THE U4128 CHAUCER ROAD, IPSWICH

Suffolk County Council intends to make an Order closing the U4128 Chaucer Road, Ipswich to facilitate carriageway resurfacing. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be Spenser Road, Goldsmith Road, Byron Road, Macauley Road and vice versa.

For the duration of this closure there will also be a prohibition of waiting on the U4128 Chaucer Road, Ipswich.

There will be no exceptions.

As this road closure is required to permit essential works to the highway, any vehicles that remain in the area affected during the period of the restriction may be removed in accordance with powers available to do so.

7.5 TONNE WEIGHT RESTRICTION ON PART OF THE A1214 LONDON ROAD AND YARMOUTH ROAD,

THE A137 VARIOUS ROADS AND THE A1156 NORWICH ROAD, IPSWICH

Suffolk County Council intends to make an Order closing the following roads:

  1. A1214 London Road, Ipswich from Handford Road to the junction with Hadleigh Road/Ranelagh Road
  2. A1214 Yarmouth Road, Ipswich from London Road to Bramford Road
  3. A137 West End Road, Ipswich from London Road to Sir Alf Ramsey Way.

This is to facilitate carriageway resurfacing. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion routes will be:

  1. the A1071, the A1022, the A137, the A14, the A1214 and vice versa
  2. the A1214, the A1156, the A1022, the A1071 and vice versa
  3. the A137, the A1022, the A1071 and vice versa.

For the duration of this closure there will be a suspension of the 7.5 tonne weight restriction on the following roads:

• A1156 Norwich Road, Ipswich

• A137 Bridge Street, Ipswich

• A137 Hawes Street, Ipswich

• A137 Wherstead Road, Ipswich

• A137 Vernon Street, Ipswich

• A1214 London Road, Ipswich.

It is intended that these measures will operate from 01/09/2026 - 17/09/2026 from 8pm - 5am with no weekend working but, if necessary, the Order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).
