What is happening?

CAMBRIDGESHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL

NOTICE is given that Cambridgeshire County Council intends after 7 days, to make an Order pursuant to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, the effect of which:

High Street, Guilden Morden Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic – Order 2026-20997
Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along High Street, Guilden Morden as lies between No. 66 & Buxtons Lane.

The alternative route for vehicles is via Church St; Trap Rd; Hay St, Steeple Morden; Church St; Station Rd; Ashwell Rd; Ashwell Rd, Guilden Morden & vice versa.

The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate telecoms maintenance & associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway. It is anticipated that these works will take place between 09:30hrs & 15:30hrs on 4/9/26, when the restriction is expected to be in operation. The Order will remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months from the date it comes into effect to permit the works & any associated contingencies including delays or phased delivery of the works.

Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along various roads, as set out in Schedule 1 below. Nothing in this Order shall prevent access & egress from premises or land adjacent to the highway mentioned in Schedule 1.

The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate carriageway maintenance & associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway. The proposed Order will come into operation on 1/9/26 & will remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months from the date it comes into effect to permit the works & any associated contingencies including delays or phased delivery of the works.

Access will be maintained to properties affected by these orders. The above orders shall not apply to any persons lawfully engaged in connection with any works for which it is made, any member of the Police Force, Fire & Rescue Service, Ambulance Service, a vehicle being used by Special Forces during the execution of their duties or to any person acting with the permission or upon the direction of a Police Officer in uniform.
