(A7 TORWOODLEE, GALASHIELS)
(TEMPORARY CLOSING) ORDER 2026

The Scottish Borders Council (A7 Torwoodlee, Galashiels) (Temporary Closing) Order 2026 has been made under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended. The Order, which has a maximum duration of  18 months, will come into force on 24 August 2026 and is expected to remain in effect for a period of four nights until 27 August 2026 between the hours of 19:00 and 16:00. The Order is required for Tree works Torwoodlee Estate.

When the Order comes into effect no person shall drive or cause or permit to be driven any vehicle along the  A7 at Torwoodlee, Galashiels.

The alternative route for northbound traffic is via the A7, A6091, A68, B6458 and A7 to the point of closure, for southbound traffic the reverse of the foregoing.

(C40 CESSFORD, KELSO)
(TEMPORARY CLOSING) NO 2 ORDER 2026

The Scottish Borders Council (C40 Cessford, Kelso) (Temporary Closing) No 2 Order 2026 has been made under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended. The Order, which has a maximum duration of  18 months, will come into force on 24 August 2026 and is expected to remain in effect until 26 August 2026 between the hours of 07:00 and 17:00 each day. The Order is required for Go Fibre works.

When the Order comes into effect no person shall drive or cause or permit to be driven any vehicle along the  C40 at Cessford, Kelso.

The alternative route for northbound traffic is via the C40, B6401, C40 to point of closure or C40, B6401, C50, A698, C39, C40 to the point of closure, for southbound traffic the reverse of the foregoing.

(D65/5 EDEN BROOK FARM, GORDON)
(TEMPORARY CLOSING) ORDER 2026

The Scottish Borders Council (D65/5 Eden Brook Farm, Gordon) (Temporary Closing) Order 2026 has been made under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended. The Order, which has a maximum duration of 18 months, will come into force on 27 August 2026 and is expected to remain in effect until 28 August 2026 between the hours of 07:00 and 17:00 each day. The Order is required for Go Fibre works.

When the Order comes into effect no person shall drive or cause or permit to be driven any vehicle along the D65/5 Eden Brook Farm, Gordon.

The alternative route for eastbound traffic is via the D65/5, A6105, D66/5 and D65/5 to the point of closure, for westbound traffic the reverse of the foregoing.

THE ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
THE SCOTTISH BORDERS COUNCIL
(VARIOUS STREETS, KELSO) (TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER 2006 (EXPERIMENTAL TRAFFIC REGULATION) AMENDMENT ORDER 2026

The Scottish Borders Council made the above Order on 13 August 2026 in exercise of the powers conferred on them by Sections 9 and 10 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and of all other enabling powers and after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 to said Act and having complied with the statutory requirements of The Local Authorities’ Traffic Orders (Procedure) (Scotland)

Regulations 1999, as amended. The Order will be experimental and will remain initially in operation for a period of no less than six months.

The effect of the Order, which comes into operation on 24 August 2026, will be to prohibit motor vehicles waiting (loading and unloading permitted) at any time in lengths of Ednam Road and Broomlands in Kelso, in the interests of public and road safety and traffic management.

A copy of the Experimental Order as made, together with maps showing said lengths of road and a Statement of the Council’s Reasons for making the Experimental Order may be examined at Traffic and Road Safety, Network, Environment and Infrastructure, The Scottish Borders Council, Newtown St Boswells, Melrose, from Mondays to Thursdays between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. and also at the Council’s Library Contact Centre, Bowmont Street, Kelso, TD5 7JH during its normal opening hours.

The Scottish Borders Council will be considering in due course whether the provisions of the Experimental Order should be made permanent. Any person wishing to object to the making of a permanent Order should send details of the grounds of objection in writing to the Director of Corporate Governance, Council Headquarters, Newtown St Boswells, Melrose, TD6 0SA by 23 February 2027.

(EXPERIMENTAL TRAFFIC REGULATION) AMENDMENT ORDER 2026

The Scottish Borders Council made the above Order on 13 August 2026 in exercise of the powers conferred on them by Sections 9 and 10 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and of all other enabling powers and after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 to said Act and having complied with the statutory requirements of The Local Authorities’ Traffic Orders (Procedure) (Scotland) Regulations 1999, as amended. The Order will be experimental and will remain initially in operation for a period of no less than six months.

The effect of the Order, which comes into operation on 24 August 2026, will be to prohibit motor vehicles travelling at a speed in excess of 20mph at any time on lengths of the D33-5 Road in Earlston, in the interests of public and road safety and traffic management.

A copy of the Experimental Order as made, together with maps showing said lengths of road and a Statement of the Council’s Reasons for making the Experimental Order may be examined at Traffic and Road Safety, Network, Environment and Infrastructure, The Scottish Borders Council, Newtown St Boswells, Melrose, from Mondays to Thursdays between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
