What is happening?
CITY OF NEWCASTLE UPON TYNE (NORTH VIEW AREA A) TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER 2026
1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Newcastle upon Tyne intend, not less than 7 days from the date of this Notice, to make an Order under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit any pedestrians to proceed on;
i. Algernon South Footpath, between Algernon Road and St Mark’s Close,
ii. Denmark Court West Footpath, for its entire length.
iii. Denmark Court South Footway, between Denmark Court West Footpath and Denmark Court East Footpath,
iv. Unnamed footpath linking St Mark’s Close and Denmark Court South Footpath, for its entire length, and
v. Tynemouth Way Footway, between Tynemouth Grove Footpath and Denmark Court South Footpath.
2. The alternative route for traffic will be signed on site as required.
3. The order is required to allow works to be carried out on or near the highway.
4. The Order will come into operation on 21 September 2026 and will continue as and when relevant traffic signs are displayed, up to 31 July 2027 or until the works are completed, whichever is earlier.
