What is happening?
THE LONDON BOROUGH OF REDBRIDGE
School Streets Scheme - The Redbridge (Prescribed Routes) (School Streets) (No. 1) - (Amendment No.4) Order 2026
(NOTE: This Notice is about continuing indefinitely the reversal of one-way working in Castleton Road, and part-time pedestrian zones during term-time (school streets) in streets adjacent to Chadwell Heath Academy, Goodmayes Primary School, Mossford Green Primary School, Nightingale Primary School, South Park Primary School, St. Aidan’s Catholic Primary Academy and Wells Primary School, which have been in force by way of an experimental Order.)
1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of The London Borough of Redbridge (the ‘Council’) on the 18th August 2026 made the above-mentioned Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended).
2. The general effect of the Order is to continue in force indefinitely the provisions of The Redbridge (Prescribed Routes) (School Streets) (Experimental No. 1) Order 2025 so as to retain on a permanent basis the measures to:
(a) prohibit all motor vehicles except permit holders at certain times in Aldeburgh Place, Ashbourne Avenue, Bradford Road, Castleton Road, Christie Gardens, Esher Road, Fairlop Road, Friars Close, Guildford Road, Holmwood Road, Leeds Road, Morrab Gardens, Priestley Gardens, Southview Drive, Sydney Road, Water Lane, and Waterloo Road; and
(b) reverse one-way working on Castleton Road, so that it applies in a northerly direction.

4. A copy of the Order, which will come into force on the 21st August 2026, together with other documents giving more detailed particulars of the Order are available for inspection at: The Customer Centre, Lynton House, 255-259 High Road, Ilford, IG1 1NY, between 10:00am and 4:00pm Monday to Friday (except on Bank Holidays) until the last day of a period of six weeks beginning with the date on which the Order was made.
5. Any person wishing to question the validity of the Order or any provisions contained therein on the grounds that it is not within the relevant powers of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984 or that any of the relevant requirements thereof or of any regulations made thereunder have not been complied with in relation to the Order may, within six weeks of the date on which the Order was made, make application for the purpose to the High Court.
