What is happening?
Notice is hereby given that Salford City Council has made the CITY OF SALFORD (CORONATION STREET, KING EDWARD STREET AND ADJOINING ROADS, ORDSALL) (PROHIBITION OF WAITING) ORDER 2026 under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which is to introduce:
NO WAITING AT ANY TIME:
Coronation Street, (i) both sides, from its junction with Gloucester Street for 5m in a north westerly direction,
(ii) south west side, from 10m south east of the south easterly projected kerbline of Rudman Drive, to 10m north west from the north westerly projected kerbline of Rudman Drive,
(iii) south west side, from 10m south east from the south easterly projected kerbline of Regent Square (south east junction), to 10m north west from the north westerly projected kerbline of Regent Square (south east junction),
(iv) south west side, from the south easterly projected kerbline of Regent Square (north west junction) for 10m in a south easterly direction,
(v) south west side, from the north westerly projected kerbline of Huddart Close, for 10m in a north westerly direction. King Edward Street, (i) north side, from 10m west of the north westerly projected kerbline of Regent Square (north west junction), to 10m east of the south easterly projected kerbline of Regent Square (north west junction), (ii) north side, from 10m west of the north westerly projected kerbline of Regent Square (south east junction), to 10m east of the south easterly projected kerbline of Regent Square (south east junction), (iii) north side, from 10m west of the north westerly projected kerbline of Rudman Drive, to 10m east of the south easterly projected kerbline of Rudman Drive, (iv) north side, from the north westerly projected kerbline of Gloucester Street, for 10m in a north westerly direction, (v) south west side, from the north westerly projected kerbline of Gloucester Street, for 9m in a north westerly direction. Rudman Drive, (i) both sides, from the south westerly projected kerbline of Coronation Street for 10m in a south westerly direction, (ii) both sides, from the north easterly projected kerbline of King Edward Street, for 10m in a north easterly direction. Regent Square (south east junction), (i) both sides, from the south westerly projected kerbline of Coronation Street for 10m in a south westerly direction, (ii) both sides, from the north easterly projected kerbline of King Edward Street, for 10m in a north easterly direction. Regent Square (north west junction), (i) both sides, from the south westerly projected kerbline of Coronation Street for 10m in a south westerly direction, (ii) both sides, from the north easterly projected kerbline of King Edward Street, for 10m in a north easterly direction. Huddart Close, both sides, from the south westerly projected kerbline of Coronation Street for 10m in a south westerly direction. Gloucester Street, north west side, from 9m north east of the north easterly projected kerbline of King Edward Street to 10m south west from the south westerly projected kerbline of King Edward Street.
The Order was made on 18th August 2026 and will come into effect on 24th August 2026. A copy of the Order and the plan are available for inspection at Swinton Gateway, 100 Chorley Road, Swinton, M27 6BP Monday to Friday 9am to 6pm.
Anyone wishing to question the validity of the Order or any provision contained in it on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 or that any requirement of that Act or of any instrument made under it has not been complied with in relation to the Order may within 6 weeks from 18th August 2026 apply to the High Court for such purpose.
