What is happening?

ORDER 2026

On 10 August 2026 the North Lanarkshire Council made the above-named Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by Schedule 1 of the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, and in exercise of all other enabling powers, which makes it unlawful for any person to drive or cause or permit to be driven any motor vehicle (with the exception of vehicles facilitating Scottish Water Infrastructure Upgrade Works) on High Road, Motherwell from its junction with A723 Hamilton Road up to and including its junction with Town Hall Court by reason of works being executed on or near that location.

Alternative routes: Vehicles on the north side of the closure wishing to reach the south side of the closure should travel via High Road, Farm Street, Ladywell Road, Orchard Street then A723 Hamilton Road. Vehicles on the south side of the closure wishing to reach the north side of the closure should travel vice versa.

Access to park and ride car park will be maintained via Farm Street access.

Pedestrian access will be maintained, where practicable, during the closure.

Vehicular access will be maintained, where practicable, during the closure.

The Order, will come into operation at 00:01 hours on Monday, 24 August 2026 and will remain in operation until 23:59 hours on Sunday, 04 October 2026.
