Park Road - Temporary Road Closure Due To Carriageway Resurfacing Works
What is happening?
The County Council of Durham (Park Road Industrial Estate, Blackhill, Consett) (Temporary Road Closure) Order 2026
The Council proposes to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended, to prohibit all vehicular traffic, from proceeding on the following length of road.
A 270 metre length of Park Road industrial Estate that extends west from its junction with Genesis Way, Blackhill, Consett to enable carriageway resurfacing works to be undertaken. There will be no alternative route available to vehicular traffic during the closure period, but access will be afforded for emergency service vehicles should the need arise. The maximum duration of the Order is 18 months. The proposed works are required from 00.01am on Saturday 5/9/2026 to 7pm on Sunday 6/9/2026 and again during these times the following Saturday and Sunday (12/9/2026-13/9/2026). On occasions, alternative dates for the closure may be necessary and these will be signed on site accordingly.
