ORDER NO.2 2026
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of New Road, Berkhamsted from its junction with Station Road northwards to its junction with Whitehill, a distance of approximately 495m (“the Road”), except for access.
An alternative route will be via Station Road, Brownlow Road and Whitehill.
The Order is needed because bridge inspection works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road. The Order will come into effect from 6 September 2026 and will be valid for a period of 18 months. The works are scheduled to take 1 day to complete and will only take effect on the days and times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING AND WAITING RESTRICTIONS ON
THE ROAD LEADING TO ‘HILLCREST’,
HEMEL HEMPSTEAD) ORDER 2026
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the road leading to ‘Hillcrest’, Hemel Hempstead from its junction with Felden Lane north westwards for a distance of approximately 25m (“the Road”), except for access. There is no alternative route available, but access will be maintained wherever possible throughout the duration of the works.
ADDITIONALLY all vehicles are prohibited from waiting at any time on both sides of this length of Road, whilst works are in progress.
The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
The Order will come into effect from 7 September 2026 and will be valid for a period of 18 months. The works are scheduled to take 5 days to complete and will only take effect on the days and times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Old Watling Street, Flamstead from its junction with A5183 London Road north westwards for a distance of approximately 343m (“the Road”). An alternative route will be via A5183 London Road, Watery Lane, Coles Lane, Chad Lane and Old Watling Street. The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road. The Order will come into effect from 7 September 2026 and will be valid for a period of 18 months. The works are scheduled to take 3 days to complete and will only take effect on the days and times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all traffic from using the following lengths of roads (“the Roads”), except for access:
1. that length of St Katherines Way, Berkhamsted from its junction with Springfield Road north eastwards and south eastwards to its junction with Haynes Mead, a distance of approximately 434m.
An alternative route will be via Springfield Road and Haynes Mead.
2. that length of Bridle Way, Berkhamsted from its junction with Haynes Mead south eastwards to its junction with Bridgewater Road, a distance of approximately 539m. An alternative route will be via Haynes Mead, Springfield Road and Bridgewater Road.
3. that length of Gaddesden Row, Great Gaddesden/Gaddesden Lane, Great Gaddesden/Redbourn from its junction with Red Lion Lane south eastwards, north eastwards, south eastwards, north eastwards and south eastwards to its junction with Hemel Hempstead Road, a distance of approximately 4919m.
An alternative route will be via Red Lion Lane, B440 Leighton Buzzard Road, A4147 Link Road, B487 (Redbourn Road/ Hemel Hempstead Road) and Hemel Hempstead Road.
4. that length of Great Elms Road, Hemel Hempstead from its junction with Belswains Lane north eastwards to its junction with Barnacres Road, a distance of approximately 1088m.
An alternative route will be via Belswains Lane and Barnacres Road.
5. that length of Barnacres Road, Hemel Hempstead from its junction with Belswains Lane north eastwards and north westwards to its junction with Leys Road, a distance of approximately 1351m.
An alternative route will be via Belswains Lane, St Albans Hill and Leys Road.
6. that length of Horselers, Hemel Hempstead from its junction with Barnacres Road north westwards, south westwards and north westwards to its junction with Great Elms Road, a distance of approximately 228m. An alternative route will be via Barnacres Road and Great Elms Road.
The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Roads.
The Order will come into effect from 7 September 2026 and will be valid for a period of 18 months. The works are scheduled to take 5 days to complete and will only take effect on the days and times indicated by signs on or near the Roads.

The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road. The Order will come into effect from 7 September 2026 and will be valid for a period of 18 months. NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following lengths of roads (“the Roads”), except for access:-
1. that length of Chesham Road, Berkhamsted from its junction with A4251 High Street south westwards to its junction with Hilltop Road, a distance of approximately 548m. An alternative route will be via A4251 High Street, Three Close Lane, Beech Drive and Hilltop Road.
2. that length of Coniston Road, Kings Langley from its junction with A4251 Hempstead Road south westwards, north westwards, south westwards, south eastwards and south westwards to its junction with Barnes Lane, a distance of approximately 715m.
An alternative route will be via A4251 Hempstead Road and Common Lane.
3. that length of Singlets Lane/High Street, Flamstead from its junction with Chequers Lane north westwards and south westwards to its junction with Chapel Road, a distance of approximately 529m.
An alternative route will be via Chequers Hill, A5183 London Road, Hollybush Lane and Chapel Road. The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Roads.
The Order will come into effect from 25 August 2026 and will be valid for a period of 18 months. The works are scheduled to take 1 day to complete and will only take effect on the days and times indicated by signs on or near the Roads.

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of A4147 Leverstock Green Road, Hemel Hempstead from its junction with Greenacres north westwards for a distance of approximately 150m (“the Road”).
An alternative route will be via A4147 (Leverstock Green Road/Hemel Hempstead Road/Bluehouse Hill), A5183 (Redbourn Road/Folly Lane), A4147 (Folly Lane/Catherine Street), A1081 (St Peters Street/Chequer Street), A5183 (Holywell Hill/St Stephens Hill/Watling Street), A405 (North Orbital Road/St Albans Road/North Orbital Road), A41 (North Western Avenue/Hempstead Road/Watford Road/unnamed road/Two Waters Way), A414 (Two Waters Way/Two Waters Road/St Albans Road) and A4147 (Leverstock Green Way/ Leverstock Green Road).
