BATH & NORTH EAST SOMERSET COUNCIL

(VARIOUS ROADS, BATH AND NORTH EAST SOMERSET) (PROHIBITION OF STOPPING, WAITING, LOADING AND PARKING PLACES) (VARIATION NO.4) ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS GIVEN that the Bath and North East Somerset Council has made an order under provisions contained in the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will introduce the following variations to restrictions in the Bath and North East Somerset:-

In line with savings agreed by Full Council in February 2025 as part of the budget setting process for 2025/26, the Council is proposing a review of on-street parking permit charges, including:

• An increase in the baseline charge for on-street parking permits from £100 to £120 for an annual permit (20%), with corresponding increases across bands where permit charges are emission based.

• Where an on-street permit charge does not align to the £100 baseline charge its charge will be increased by an equivalent 20%.

• Removal of the 50% discount for EV vehicles.

• The council proposes to introduce an annual review of permit charges, linked to inflation, into the Fees and Charges process as part of the council’s annual budget setting, agreed by Full Council, from April 2026.

The order will come into operation on the 20th August 2026.

Full details of the proposal together with a map and a Statement of the Council’s Reasons for making the order may be inspected at the One Stop Shops at Manvers Street, Bath, The Hollies, High Street, Midsomer Norton and at the Civic Centre, Market Walk, Keynsham during normal office hours.
