THE DERBYSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL (BANK STREET, BARKER LANE, CATHERINE STREET, CHESTER STREET AND FOLJAMBE ROAD, CHESTERFIELD) (PROHIBITIONS AND RESTRICTIONS OF WAITING AND STOPPING) TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER 2026
Notice is hereby given that Derbyshire County Council proposes to make the above named Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of the Order will be, in respects of roads in Chesterfield Town Centre, in the District of Chesterfield, is as follows:
TO PROHIBIT WAITING AT ANY TIME ON THE FOLLOWING LENGTHS OF ROADS:
Bank Street, Chesterfield
East side
from a point 5 metres north of its junction with Catherine Street in a southerly direction to a point 5 metres south of that junction.
Bank Street, Chesterfield
West side
from a point 5 metres north of its junction with Catherine Street in a southerly direction to a point 5 metres south of that junction.
Barker Lane, Chesterfield
East side
from a point 23 metres north of a point opposite the junction with Pottery Mews in a northerly direction for a distance of 27 metres.
Catherine Street, Chesterfield
North side
from a point 5 metres west of its junction with Bank Street in an easterly direction to a point 5 metres east of that junction.
from its junction with Chester Street in a westerly direction for a distance of 10 metres.

South side
from a point 5 metres west of its junction with Bank Street in an easterly direction to a point 5 metres east of that junction.
from a point 34 metres west of its junction with Chester Street in an easterly direction for a distance of 8 metres.

from a point 239 metres north of its junction with West Bars in a northerly direction for a distance of 6.6 metres.
Exemptions will be made for vehicles used in connection with any building operation or demolition; removal of any obstruction to traffic; carrying out of statutory powers or as part of a funeral or wedding cortege. The usual exemptions for disabled persons’ vehicles displaying a valid disabled person’s badge will also apply. The following restriction is proposed under Regulations contained within The Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016 (as amended). Any permanent Traffic Regulation Orders made prior to this Order, insofar as they relate to the lengths of road listed above, will be revoked. A copy of the Order and documents giving more detailed particulars of the Order are available for inspection at the County Council’s principal offices known as County Hall on Smedley Street in Matlock, at the Chesterfield Library, New Beetwell Street, Chesterfield, S40 1QN, during opening hours and on request by emailing place.permanentTRO
until 6 weeks after the Order is made. All objections and other representations to the proposal must (a) be made in writing (b) state the grounds on which they are made (c) provide a name and address for contact purposes (d) be sent to the Executive Director – Place, Derbyshire County Council, County Hall, Matlock DE4 3AG (For attention of the TRO Manager quoting reference Z3455) or email place.permanentTRO
