(TEMPORARY SUSPENSION OF DISABLED PARKING) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF WAITING) 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Lancashire County Council intend to make an Order under Section 14(1) (a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit traffic on the roads set out in this notice.
1. During the period stated in article 3. of this order, the existing Disabled Parking on New Street Lancaster from a point 43 metres south of its junction with Church Street for a distance of 12 metres in a southerly direction will be temporarily suspended.
2. Nothing in this order shall apply to persons engaged in the carrying out of the works.
3. The prohibition will be operative from 0600 hours on Monday 17th August 2026 until 2000 hours on Monday 26th April 2027 until completion of the works within this period.
AND FURTHER, during the period stated in article 3. of this order, all motor vehicles and cycles will be temporarily prohibited from waiting on that length of New Street Lancaster from a point 43 metres south of its junction with Church Street for a distance of 12 metres in a southerly direction.
AND FURTHER, during the period stated in article 3. of this order, the existing Disabled Parking on New Street Lancaster from a point 8 metres north of its junction with Market Street for a distance of 6.6 metres in a northerly direction will be temporarily suspended.
AND FURTHER, during the period stated in article 3. of this order, all motor vehicles and cycles will be temporarily prohibited from waiting on that length of New Street Lancaster from a point 8 metres north of its junction with Market Street for a distance of 6.6 metres in a northerly direction.
The temporary prohibition is necessary to allow major re-roofing works to be carried out at Lancaster Library.
