MAE GWEINIDOGION CYMRU, gan weithredu ar ran Cyngor Sir Fynwy yn unol â threfniadau a wnaed rhwng Cyngor Sir Fynwy a Gweinidogion Cymru o dan adran 83(1) o Ddeddf Llywodraeth Cymru 2006, wedi gwneud Gorchymyn, drwy arfer eu pwerau o dan adran 16A o Ddeddf Rheoleiddio Traffig Ffyrdd 1984 ac adran 83 o Ddeddf Llywodraeth Cymru 2006. THE R41, LLANARTH ROAD, LLANARTH, MONMOUTHSHIRE (TEMPORARY 30 MPH SPEED LIMIT FOR EXEMPTED VEHICLES) ORDER 2026
THE WELSH MINISTERS, acting on behalf of Monmouthshire County Council pursuant to arrangements made between Monmouthshire County Council and the Welsh Ministers under section 83(1) of the Government of Wales Act 2006, have made an Order, in exercise of their powers under section 16A of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and section 83 of the Government of Wales Act 2006, which is necessary to hold the “Open Road Cycle Race” cycling event at and near Llanarth, Monmouthshire.
The effect of the Order is to temporarily allow motor vehicles being used by authorised event officials to be driven at a speed not exceeding 30 mph on the length of the R41 road known as Llanarth Road, Llanarth, Monmouthshire, that extends from the 20 mph speed restriction sign on located 30 metres south-west of its junction with the C26-13 road (known as Parsonage Road), to the 30 mph speed restriction sign located 375 metres south of its junction with the C26-4 road (known as Ty Newydd Road).
This will enable them to get a short distance ahead of the race to carry out their duties of ensuring the road is clear and holding traffic, where appropriate. It will implement a “safety bubble” that should ensure that the race is delivered safely for riders and the public.
The Order comes into force on 31 August 2026 and has a maximum duration of 1 day. The restriction is only expected to operate from 10:00 hours to 14:00 hours.
