The A20 GLA Road (Eltham Road, Royal Borough of Greenwich) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic and Stopping) Order 2026
- Transport for London hereby gives notice that it has made the above named Traffic Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 for the purpose specified in paragraph 2. The effect of the Order is summarised in paragraph 3.
- The purpose of the Order is to enable gas chamber replacement works to take place at A20 Eltham Road in the Royal Borough of Greenwich.
The effect of the Order will be to prohibit any vehicle from:
(1) proceeding in a westerly direction on Eltham Road between its junctions with Sidcup Road/Kidbrooke Park Road and Sheldon Close;
(2) entering, exiting, proceeding or stopping on Crathie Road from its junction with Eltham Road to the extended southern building line of No.4 Sidcup Road.
The Order will be effective at certain times from 11.59 PM on the 19th August 2026 until 11.59 PM on the 14th September 2026 or when the works have been completed whichever is the sooner. The prohibitions will apply only during such times and to such extent as shall from time to time be indicated by traffic signs.
The prohibitions will not apply in respect of:
(1) any vehicle being used for the purposes of those works or for fire brigade, ambulance or police purposes;
(2) anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform or a person authorised by Transport for London.
- At such times as the prohibitions are in force alternative routes will be indicated by traffic signs for northbound traffic from Eltham Road via Kidbrooke Park Road, Shooters Hill, Blackheath Hill, Lewisham Road, Lewisham High Street and Lee High Road to normal route of travel. For southbound traffic from Eltham Road/Kidbrooke Park Road via Sidcup Road, Westhorne Avenue and Burnt Ash Road to normal route of travel. for westbound traffic via Sidcup Road, Westhorne Avenue and Horn Park Road or reverse to normal route of travel. for local access from Eltham Road via Sidcup Road, Abergeldie Road, and Crathie Road to normal route of travel.
