THE M6 MOTORWAY (JUNCTION 28 NORTHBOUND EXIT AND ENTRY SLIP ROADS)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITIONS OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that National Highways Limited (Company No. 09346363) intends to make an Order on the M6 Motorway in the District of South Ribble, in the County of Lancashire, for the purpose of facilitating works on adopted LCC highway.

The Order will ban all traffic from the M6 northbound exit and entry slip roads at Junction 28. The prohibitions are expected to be in place overnight between 22:00 and 05:00 during a period starting on Monday 14th September 2026 and ending on Saturday 19th September 2026. Diversion routes via alternative junctions of  the M6 Motorway and local roads will be  well signed.

The prohibitions will not apply to emergency services, works, or traffic officer vehicles. The prohibitions will only apply during such times and to such extent as shall be indicated by traffic signs. The Order comes into force on  13th September 2026 and has a maximum duration of eighteen months. For further information, contact sam.smith@nationalhighways.co.uk
