ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 SECTION 14 (1)(A) (AS AMENDED)
HARPERS ROAD, ABERSYCHAN, PONTYPOOL
TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC ORDER 2026
NOTICE is hereby given that the County Borough Council of Torfaen in exercise of their powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) intend not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any traffic from proceeding along a section of Harpers Road, Abersychan, Pontypool.
The alternative route is along Harpers Road, Viaduct Road, Pisgah Road, B4246 Albert Road, B4246 New Road, B4246 Emlyn Road, B4246 New Road, Herbert’s Road, Stanley Road and vice versa. (Access for emergency services will be maintained as far as is reasonably practicable).
The prohibition is necessary because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the road to complete civil works.
The proposed Order will operate on Wednesday 26 August 2026 to Wednesday 16 September 2026 and any other days deemed necessary within a period not exceeding 18 months.
