Warwickshire County Council has made the following Temporary Traffic Orders:
SMORRALL LANE, BEDWORTH
Order Effect: Road closed to vehicular traffic.
Reason for Order: To enable works to rectify carriageway defects.
Order Commences: 25 August 2026 for up to 18 months.
Anticipated Completion: 27 August 2026.
Access & Diversion: Dark Lane, Goodyers End Lane, Heath Road, Smorrall Lane and vice versa.

BLACKHORSE ROAD, BEDWORTH
Order Effect: Road closed to vehicular traffic for 20 metres either side of level crossing.
Reason for Order: Railway tamping works, overnight 23.00hrs- 09.00hrs.
Order Commences: 22 August 2026 for up to 18 months.
Anticipated Completion: 23 August 2026.
Access & Diversion: Blackhorse Road, Longford Road, Pickards Way, Bedworth Bypass, Jimmy Hill Way, Classic Drive, Foleshill Road, Oakmoor Road, Grange Road, Ironbridge Way and vice versa.

THE LONG SHOOT, NUNEATON
Order Effect: Road closed southbound from junction with A5 to outside property number 287.
Reason for Order: Repair/replace defective manhole frame and covers, closed 20.00hrs-06.00hrs.
Order Commences: 8 September 2026 for up to 18 months.
Anticipated Completion: 9 September 2026.
Access & Diversion: Watling Street, A5, Weddington Lane, Weddington Road, Old Hinckley Road, Hinckley Road, The Long Shoot and vice versa.

BERMUDA ROAD, NUNEATON
Order Effect: Road closed to vehicular traffic.
Reason for Order: Repair/replace defective manhole frame and cover, closed 19.00hrs-06.00hrs.
Order Commences: 8 September 2026 for up to 18 months.
Anticipated Completion: 9 September 2026.
Access & Diversion: Bermuda Road, Heath End Road, Greenmoor Road, Bull Ring, College Street, Griff Way, Coventry Road, St Georges Way, Bermuda Bridge, The Bridleway and vice versa.

For all of the above temporary orders, pedestrian access to and egress from properties and land situated adjacent to the length of road to be closed will be maintained at all times. Vehicular access will be maintained where possible.

(BOROUGH OF NUNEATON & BEDWORTH) (WAITING RESTRICTIONS, ON-STREET PARKING PLACES AND RESIDENTS’ PARKING) (CONSOLIDATION) (VARIATION NO. 7) ORDER 2026
Warwickshire County Council propose to make the above-named Order, pursuant to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to implement no waiting at any time restrictions on those lengths of road which are described in the Schedule below.

(REGENT STREET, BOND STREET, BACK STREET AND LEICESTER ROAD, NUNEATON) (JUNCTION IMPROVEMENTS AND OTHER WORKS) SIDE ROADS ORDER 2026
The Warwickshire Council hereby give notice that they have made, and are about to submit to the Secretary of State for Transport for confirmation, an Order under Section 14 and Section 125 of the Highways Act 1980 authorising the Council to:
(a) improve highways (including raising, lowering or otherwise altering},
(b) stop up highways,
(c) construct new highways,
(d) stop up private means of access to premises,
(e) provide new means of access to said premises,
all on or in the vicinity of the route of the classified road known as Wheat Street (A444) which the Council are proposing to improve in the vicinity of Regent Street, Bond Street, Back Street and Leicester Road, Copies of the Order and of the relevant plans may be inspected free of charge at Nuneaton Library and Information Centre, Church Street, Nuneaton, CV11 4DR and may be inspected between the hours shown below:

COMPULSORY PURCHASE ORDER 2026
THE HIGHWAYS ACT 1980 AND THE ACQUISITION OF LAND ACT 1981
1. Notice is hereby given that Warwickshire County Council has made The Warwickshire County Council (Land at Regent Street, Bond Street, Back Street and Leicester Road, Compulsory Purchase Order 2026 under sections 239 240 246 and 250 of the Highways Act 1980.
2. Warwickshire County Council has submitted this order to the Secretary of State for Transport for confirmation, and if confirmed, the order will authorize Warwickshire County Council to purchase compulsorily the land and the new rights described in Schedule 1 hereto for the purpose of:
a. The improvement of Wheat Street/A444 including provision of a fourth arm to an existing three arm, signalised junction to unlock proposed development sites along Wheat Street and to provide improvements to cyclist/pedestrian facilities; and
b. The improvement of Leicester Rd/Back St/Bond St/Regent St/ A444 including removing the existing one-way gyratory system and replace it with a four-arm roundabout. Approximately 420 metres of one-way system will be removed. Proposed toucan crossings on Leicester Road, Vicarage Street and A444 approach, along with the realignment of Regent Street will provide greatly improved pedestrian/cyclists facilities.
c. The construction of new highway in pursuance of the Warwickshire County Council (Regent Street, Bond Street Back Street and Leicester Road, Nuneaton) (Junction improvements and other works) Side Roads Order 2026.
d. The provision of new means of access to premises in pursuance of the Warwickshire County Council (Regent Street, Bond Street and Leicester Road, Nuneaton) (Junction improvements and other works) Side Roads Order 2026.
e. Mitigating the adverse effect which the existence or use of the highways proposed to be constructed or improved will have on the surroundings thereof.
3. A copy of the order as made and of the map referred to therein have been deposited at Nuneaton Library and Information Centre, Church Street, Nuneaton, CV11 4DR and are available for inspection between the times shown below:

4. Any objection to the order must be made in writing to the Secretary of State for Transport, Department for Transport, National Transport Casework Team, Tyneside House, Skinnerburn Road, Newcastle Business Park, Newcastle upon Tyne, NE4 7AR or by email to nationalcasework@dft.gov.uk before 11th September 2026 and should state the title of the order, the grounds of objection and the objector’s address and interests in the land.
5. In submitting an objection it should be noted that your personal data and correspondence will be passed to the Council to enable your objection to be considered. If you do not wish your personal data to be forwarded, please state your reasons when submitting your objection and the Secretary of State will copy your representations, with your name and address removed to the Council, and if there is to be a Public Local Inquiry they will be seen by the Inspector who may give them less weight as a result.
