What is happening?

NEATH PORT TALBOT COUNTY BOROUGH COUNCIL
CYNGOR BWRDEISTREF SIROL CASTELL-NEDD PORT TALBOT (PEN Y DRE, NEATH) (TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE) ORDER 2026

NOTICE is hereby given that Neath Port Talbot County Borough Council intend in not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended).

The effect of the Order will be to temporarily prohibit vehicular traffic from proceeding along the length of road set out in the Schedule below whilst the Order is in force. During such periods as are indicated by traffic signs informing the public that the road is closed.

Whilst the Order is in force the current One Way Traffic Orders on the following lengths of roads are suspended:

- Rosser Street from the junction of the B4434 Gnoll Park Road in a northerly direction to the junction of Pen Y Dre.
- Pen Y Dre from the junction of Rosser Street

The Order is necessary to enable Openreach to carry out civil engineering works in the road and for the Highways section to carry out any necessary maintenance works.

The Order will come into force on the 15th September 2026 and shall continue in force for a maximum duration of 18 months, or until the works are completed whichever is the sooner.
It is anticipated that the works will take 2 days to complete.

SCHEDULE
Pen Y Dre will be closed outside property number 56 Pen Y Dre for a distance of 20m along its length.

Access for pedestrian and emergency vehicles will be maintained.
