What is happening?

THE LEICESTERSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Leicestershire County Council intends not less than 7 days from the date of this Notice to make the following Orders under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Act 1984. The works will be completed within the period of the Orders and will commence when the appropriate signs are erected. The Temporary Traffic Regulation Orders are being enforced for public safety.

ANTHONY STREET, ROTHLEY
TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF ALL THROUGH TRAFFIC
INCLUDING PEDESTRIANS, EQUESTRIANS & NON-MOTORISED TRAFFIC
TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF WAITING & LOADING AT ANY TIME ORDER 2026

It is expected that the Order will come into force on 16/09/2026 and have a maximum duration of 6 months. 

The works may last for up to 7 days to allow Leicestershire County Council to undertake drainage investigation works. The proposed diversion route will be via: Cross Gr, North St & vice versa.

TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF ALL THROUGH TRAFFIC
TEMPORARY IMPLEMENTATION OF 20 MPH SPEED RESTRICTION ORDER 2026

It is expected that the Order will come into force on 16/09/2026 and have a maximum duration of 3 months. 

The works may last for up to 2 days to allow Leicestershire County Council to undertake overnight carriageway patching works. The proposed diversion route will be signed on site. 

No speed limit imposed by this Order applies to vehicles falling within regulation 3(4) of the Road Traffic Exemptions (Special Forces) (Variation and Amendment) Regulations 2011 when used in accordance with regulation 3(5) of those Regulations.

TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF ALL THROUGH TRAFFIC ORDER 2026
It is expected that the Order will come into force on 16/09/2026 and have a maximum duration of 3 months.

The works may last for up to 1 day to allow MJ Quinn on behalf of BT Openreach to undertake infrastructure maintenance. The proposed diversion route will be via: Charnwood Rd.

Herrick Rd, Loughborough between property Nos. 66 & 74.

LIMEHURST AVENUE, LINDEN ROAD, LOUGHBOROUGH
TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF ALL THROUGH TRAFFIC ORDER 2026
It is expected that the Order will come into force on 16/09/2026 and have a maximum duration of 3 months.

The works may last for up to 3 days to allow Severn Trent Water to undertake infrastructure maintenance.

The proposed diversion route will be signed on site.

NEW LANE, WALTON ON THE WOLDS

It is expected that the Order will come into force on 14/09/2026 and have a maximum duration of 3 months. 

The works may last for up to 1 day to allow Leicestershire County Council to undertake gully replacement works. The proposed diversion route will be via: Black Ln, The Green, Loughborough Rd, New Ln & vice versa.

SCHEDULE 1

New Ln, Walton on the Wolds from Black Ln for approx. 25m.

The Order will come into force on 27/08/2026 and have a maximum duration of 3 months. 

The works may last for up to 2 days to allow Leicestershire County Council to undertake carriageway patching works. 

The proposed diversion route will be via: Homefield Ln, Fowke St, Anthony St, Cross Grn, North St, Hallfields Ln, Loughborough Rd & vice versa.

GELDERS HALL ROAD, SHEPSHED
TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF ALL THROUGH TRAFFIC ORDER 2026
The Order will come into force on 26/08/2026 and have a maximum duration of 3 months. 

The works may last for up to 1 day to allow Leicestershire County Council to undertake carriageway patching. The proposed diversion route will be signed on site.

SCHEDULE 1

Gelders Hall Rd, Shepshed from the access to property No. 1 for approx. 30m East.

MAIN STREET, WOODHOUSE EAVES
TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF ALL THROUGH TRAFFIC ORDER 2026
The Order will come into force on 24/08/2026 and have a maximum duration of 3 months. The works may last for up to 1 day to allow Severn Trent Water to undertake replacement of a defective manhole frame & cover. 

The proposed diversion route will be via: Main St, Church Hill, Brand Hill, Brand Ln, Woodhouse Eaves; School Ln, Forest Rd, Woodhouse; Forest Rd, Main St, Woodhouse Eaves & vice versa.

SCHEDULE 1
