Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, makes or intends to make the following Orders.
SWALE AREA
B2231 Kingsferry Bridge, Minster-on-Sea & Sheppey Way, Iwade & Minster-on-Sea. (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING, PEDESTRIANS & EQUESTRIANS) TEMPORARY ORDER SEPTEMBER 2026
To allow gas mains works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic, pedestrians and equestrians from travelling on part of B2231 Kingsferry Bridge, Minster-on-Sea & Sheppey Way, Iwade & Minster-on-Sea from 7th September 2026, with estimated completion by 10th September 2026, between the hours of 20:00 and 05:00, or until the works have been completed.
The roads will be closed in the vicinity of Kingsferry Bridge, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Sheppey Way, A2500 Cowstead Corner Roundabout, A249 Sheppey Crossing, Iwade Bypass, Grovehurst Slip southbound off, B2005 Grovehurst Road, Grovehurst Slip northbound on, A249 Iwade Bypass, Kingsferry Roundabout, Sheppey Way and vice versa.
A shuttle bus will be in service for the duration of these works, to facilitate any pedestrians across the bridge when it is lifted.
Addington Road, Sittingbourne, ME10 1EQ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING & TEMPORARY ONE-WAY SUSPENSION) TEMPORARY ORDER AUGUST 2026
To allow new utility connection works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Addington Road, Sittingbourne from 24th August 2026, with estimated completion by 29th August 2026, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed between the junctions with Albany Road and Park Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Albany Road, Park Road and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
The One-Way Order on Addington Road will be suspended between the junctions with Albany Road and Park Road, for the duration of the works to allow residential access.
Chalkwell Road, Sittingbourne, ME10 1BT (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER SEPTEMBER 2026
To allow unit exchange works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Chalkwell Road, Sittingbourne from 22:00 hours on 9th September 2026, with estimated completion by 05:00 hours on 10th September 2026, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed between number 144 and the entrance to Tesco, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Hawthorn Road, A2 London Road and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Gore Road, Bredgar, ME9 8ES (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER SEPTEMBER 2026
To allow drainage cleansing works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Gore Road, Bredgar from 9th September 2026 for up to one day, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed between the junctions with Silver Street and Bush Close, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Manns Place (Wrens Road), Wrens Road, Hearts Delight Road, Bredgar Road, Primrose Lane and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Hawks Hill Lane, Bredgar, ME9 8GE (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER AUGUST 2026
To allow overhead wire transfer works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Hawks Hill Lane, Bredgar from 26th August 2026 for up to one day, between the hours of 08:00 and 18:00, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed between the junctions with Bexon Lane and Bashford Barn Lane, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Bexon Lane, The Street, Swanton Street, Bashford Barn Lane and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Hempstead Lane, Tonge, ME9 9BJ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER SEPTEMBER 2026
To allow drainage works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Hempstead Lane, Tonge from 7th September 2026 for up to one day, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed between the junctions with A2 London Road and Church Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Lower Road, Station Road, A2 London Road and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Highsted Valley, Rodmersham, ME9 0AG (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER AUGUST 2026
To allow installation works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Highsted Valley, Rodmersham from 24th August 2026, with estimated completion by 4th September 2026, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed between the junctions of Cromer Road and Bottom Pond Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Cromers Road, Ruins Barn Road, Broadoak Road, Bottom Pond Road and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Market Place, Faversham, ME13 7JE (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER SEPTEMBER 2026
To allow construction works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Market Place, Faversham from 7th September 2026, with estimated completion by 7th December 2026, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed between numbers 1 and 7, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Market Place.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Munns Lane, Hartlip, ME9 7SY (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER SEPTEMBER 2026
To allow pole and cabling works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Munns Lane, Hartlip from 11th September 2026 with estimated completion by 14th September 2026, between the hours of 08:00 and 17:00, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed opposite Hillside, in the vicinity of the playground, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Munns Lane, Mill Lane, A2 Hartlip Hill, Lower Hartlip Road, Munns Lane and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Owens Court Lane, Selling, ME13 9QR (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER SEPTEMBER 2026
To allow overhead cabling works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Owens Court Lane, Selling from 11th September 2026 for up to one day, between the hours of 09:00 and 17:00, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed outside New House Farm, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Newhouse Lane, A251 Ashford Road, A2 Canterbury Road, Selling Road and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Southdown Road, Halfway, ME12 3BE (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER SEPTEMBER 2026
To allow pole and cabling works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Southdown Road, Halfway from 10th September 2026 with estimated completion by 11th September 2026, between the hours of 08:00 and 17:00, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed opposite Havill Funeral Directors, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Adelaide Gardens, Holmside Avenue, A250 Queenborough Road, Southdown Avenue and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
St Georges Avenue, Sheerness, ME12 1UH (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER AUGUST 2026
To allow water mains repair works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of St Georges Avenue, Sheerness from 24th August 2026, with estimated completion by 25th August 2026, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed at the junction with A250 High Street, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any northeast through traffic is via First Avenue, Victoria Street and A250 High Street.
The alternative route for any southwest through traffic is via A250 High Street, Millennium Way, Railway Road, Broad Street, New Road and Medway Road.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Staple Street & Staplestreet Road, Hernhill. (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER SEPTEMBER 2026
To allow pole and cabling works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Staple Street & Staplestreet Road, Hernhilll from 7th September 2026 with estimated completion by 8th September 2026, between the hours of 08:00 and 17:00, or until the works have been completed. The roads will not be closed at the same time.
Staple Street will be closed between the junctions with Chalky Road and Bull Lane, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Butts Hill, Bull Lane, The Street, Stockers Hill, Canterbury Road, A2 Boughton Bypass, Brenley Corner, A299 Thanet Way, Staple Street and vice versa.
Staplestreet Road will be closed between the junctions with Bounds Lane and Dawes Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Staple Street, Butts Hill, Bull Lane, The Street, Staplestreet Road and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Sunnyhill Road, Borden, ME9 8JU (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER SEPTEMBER 2026
To allow pole and cabling works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Sunnyhill Road, Borden from 11th September 2026 with estimated completion by 14th September 2026, between the hours of 08:00 and 17:00, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed approximately 70m south of Roseleigh, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Munsgore Lane, School Lane, Pond Farm Road, Oad Street, Sunnyhill Road and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Tunstall Road, Tunstall, ME10 1RE (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER AUGUST 2026
To allow pole testing works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Tunstall Road, Tunstall from 28th August 2026 for up to one day, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed between the junctions with Cranbrook Drive and Hearts Delight Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Woodstock Road, Gore Court Road, Park Road, A2 West Street, A2 London Road, Borden Lane, Bannister Hill, Hearts Delight, Hearts Delight Road, Tunstall Road and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Warden Road, Eastchurch, ME12 4EN (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDERS SEPTEMBER 2026
To allow overhead wire transfer works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Warden Road, Eastchurch from 7th September 2026 for up to one day, between the hours of 08:00 and 18:00, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed between Hearts Delight and Swanley Cottage, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
There is no alternative route for this closure, however, residential and emergency access will be maintained at all times when it is safe to do so.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Warren Lane, Hartlip, ME9 7TG (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER SEPTEMBER 2026
To allow defect works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Warren Lane, Hartlip from 7th September 2026, with estimated completion by 8th September 2026, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed between the junction with Mount Lane and Greenborough House, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Place Lane, Meresborough Lane, Yaugher Lane, Matts Hill and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
