Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, makes or intends to make the following Orders.

MAIDSTONE AND TUNBRIDGE WELLS AREAS

VARIOUS ROADS, Tunbridge Wells & Maidstone (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING, 20 MPH SPEED LIMIT & NO WAITING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

Because of the surface preservation programme, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on Various Roads, Tunbridge Wells & Maidstone as per the schedule below.

This Order takes effect on or after 7th September 2026 for a period of up to 18 months or until the works have been completed. Planned dates will be published in advance of the works and indicated by signage displayed on site 14 days before they start. This programme is subject to weather and other factors and may therefore change; every effort will be made to keep as close as possible to the programmed dates and duration. Changes will be notified locally and signposted on site.

From Forest Road to County Boundary.
Road closure, no waiting and 20 MPH Speed Limit.
The Current 40/60 MPH speed limits will be suspended for the duration of these works.

BIDBOROUGH RIDGE, TUNBRIDGE WELLS
From A26 London Road to Gate Farm Road.
Road closure, no waiting and 20 MPH Speed Limit. The Current 30/40 MPH speed limits will be suspended for the duration of these works.

From Babbs Lane to New Pond Road.
Road closure, no waiting, and 20 MPH speed limit.The Current 40/60 MPH speed limits will be suspended for the duration of these works.

Road closure, no waiting and 20 MPH speed limit.The Current 40MPH speed limit will be suspended for the duration of these works.

IDEN GREEN ROAD, CRANBROOK
From Standen Street to B2086 Swattenden Lane.
Road closure, no waiting and 20 mph speed limit. The Current 30/60 MPH speed limits will be suspended for the duration of these works.
