Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, makes or intends to make the following Orders.

FOLKESTONE & HYTHE AREA

Bulls Cottages, Hythe, CT21 5BN (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow fibre works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Bulls Cottages, Hythe, on or after 7th September 2026 for up to 3 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed the entire length, between the hours of 08:00 and 17:00 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

There is no alternative route. Every effort will be made to maintain access for residents whenever it is safe to do so.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

Caldecott Lane, Lydd (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow fibre works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Caldecott Lane, Lydd, on or after 8th September 2026 for up to 2 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed next to Caldecott Crossing, between the hours of 08:00 and 17:00 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Caldecott Lane, Dennes Lane, B2075 Station Road, B2075 Romney Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

Coopers Lane, Sellindge, TN25 6AH (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow fibre works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Coopers Lane, Sellindge, on or after 28th August 2026 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside Wissenden, between the hours of 08:00 and 17:00 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via A20 Hythe Road, A20 Main Road, Stone Hill, Coopers Lane and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

Donkey Street, Burmarsh, TN29 0JW (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow fibre works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Donkey Street, Burmarsh, on or after 9th September 2026 for up to 2 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside the pond of Owl Barn, between the hours of 08:00 and 17:00 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Donkey Street, Burmarsh Road, A259 Hythe Road, A259 Dymchurch Road, Botolphs Bridge Road, Lower Wall Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

Fairfield Road, New Romney, TN28 8HS (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow highway improvement works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Fairfield Road, New Romney, on or after 24th August 2026 for up to 6 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed between the junctions of Walner Lane and Craythorne Lane, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Fairfield Road, George Lane, A259 High Street, A259 Dymchurch Road, St Marys Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

Glory Lane, Elmsted, TN25 5JH (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow fibre works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Glory Lane, Elmsted, on or after 25th August 2026 for up to 2 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed approximately 15m South of the telephone exchange, between the hours of 08:00 and 17:00 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Glory Lane, Church Lane, Tamley Lane, Evington Road From Junction With The Street To Boundary Line, From Dean Bottom To District Boundary and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

Lower Wall Road, West Hythe, CT21 4NW (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow tree cutting to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Lower Wall Road, West Hythe, on or after 25th August 2026 for up to 7 hours or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from outside South View for approximately 220m in a Southeasterly direction, between the hours of 09:00 and 15:30 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Lower Wall Road, Donkey Street, Thorndike Road, Church Road, Tame Lane and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

Stowting Court Road, Stowting, TN25 6BD (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow fibre works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Stowting Court Road, Stowting, on or after 25th August 2026 for up to 2 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed opposite Braeside, between the hours of 08:00 and 17:00 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Stowting Court Road, Curteis Lane, Whiteways and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

Swamp Road, Lydd, TN29 9PY (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow fibre works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Swamp Road, Lydd, on or after 8th September 2026 for up to 2 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside Swamp Crossing Farm, between the hours of 08:00 and 17:00 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Swamp Road, Midley Wall, Beggarsbush Lane, Wheelsgate Lane and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

Varne Place, Folkestone, CT19 6BD (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Varne Place, Folkestone, on or after 9th September 2026 for up to 10 hours or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from the junction of Wear Bay Road to adjacent to the side of number 24, between the hours of 08:00 and 18:00 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Wear Bay Road, Varne Road, Varne Place and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

White Horse Lane, Rhodes Minnis, CT4 6XR (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow fibre works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of White Horse Lane, Rhodes Minnis, on or after 28th August 2026 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside Hamble Cottage, between the hours of 08:00 and 17:00 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via White Horse Lane, Chapel Lane, Mount Hill, Magpie Lane and vice versa.

The road will be closed as a rolling closure between the hours of 19:00 and 07:00 only.
The Northern section of Middelburg Square will be closed between the junctions of A2034 Cheriton Gardens and A2034 Cheriton Road.
The Western section of Middelburg Square will be closed between the junctions with Cheriton Place and A2034 Cheriton Gardens.
There will be further road closures of the Southern and Eastern sections of Middelburg Square. The Southern section will be closed between the junction of A2033 Shellons Street and Bouverie Square.
