Southend-on-Sea - Temporary Road Closures due to Arboricultural Works

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 – SECTION 14(1)

TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC, PARKING, STOPPING, WAITING, LOADING AND UNLOADING

(TTO26-27-42) ORDER 2026

(BLYTH AVENUE, CHADWICK ROAD)

Notice is hereby given that Southend-on-Sea City Council intends, no less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

The effect of the Order will be to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding, stopping, waiting, loading, unloading at the locations stated in the Table of this Notice.

The Order will come into effect from 8.30am until 4.30pm on the 25 August 2026 until 11 September 2026; however, this Order may continue in force for a maximum of 18 months to allow for remedial work or delays.

The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce whilst arboricultural works are carried out.

The alternative routes can be found in the Table below and as signed onsite.

Access for emergency vehicles, residents and pedestrians will be maintained at all times during the closure.

The prohibitions or restrictions will apply only during such time and to such extent as indicated by traffic signs prescribed by the TRAFFIC SIGNS REGULATIONS AND GENERAL DIRECTIONS 2016.

Any vehicle waiting in contravention of any restriction/prohibition imposed by this Notice may be issued with a Penalty Charge Notice and removed under the provisions of the Traffic Management Act 2004.
