What is happening?

Highways

Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, makes or intends to make the following Orders.

DOVER AREA

Back Street, Ringwould, CT14 8HL (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow drainage works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Back Street, Ringwould, on or after 24th August 2026 for up to 33 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed near the junction of Hangmans Lane, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Hangmans Lane, Front Street, Back Street and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Beacon Lane, Woodnesborough, CT13 0PA (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Beacon Lane, Woodnesborough, on or after 8th September 2026 for up to 3 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside number 4, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Beacon Lane, Drainless Road, Foxborough Hill and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Cauldham Close, Capel Le Ferne, CT18 7ND (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow utility works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Cauldham Close, Capel Le Ferne, on or after 7th September 2026 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside number 34, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

There is no alternative route. Every effort will be made to maintain access for residents whenever it is safe to do so.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Charles Road, Deal, CT14 9AZ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Charles Road, Deal, on or after 25th August 2026 for up to 4 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed by number 4, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

There is no alternative route. Every effort will be made to maintain access for residents whenever it is safe to do so.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Cherry Garden Lane, Ash, CT3 2BL (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow fibre works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Cherry Garden Lane, Ash, on or after 7th September 2026 for up to 3 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed between the junctions of New Street and Sandwich Road, between the hours of 08:00 and 17:00 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Cherry Garden Lane, New Street, Sandwich Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Cherry Lane, Great Mongeham, CT14 0HH (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Cherry Lane, Great Mongeham, on or after 9th September 2026 for up to 3 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside 1 Thorndale Cottages, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Cherry Lane, Northbourne Road, Mongeham Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Coombe Valley Road, Dover, CT17 0TX (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow bridge works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Coombe Valley Road, Dover, on or after 27th August 2026 for up to 8 hours or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed at the railway bridge, between the hours of 22:00 and 06:00 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any Westbound through traffic is via Coombe Valley Road, Barwick Road, St Radigunds Road, Bunkers Hill Road, Hillside Road, Crabble Avenue, Crabble Road, A256 Crabble Hill, A256 Buckland Avenue, Cherry Tree Avenue and A256 London Road.

The alternative route for any Eastbound through traffic is via A256 London Road, A256 Crabble Hill, Crabble Road, Crabble Avenue, Hillside Road, Bunkers Hill Road, St Radigunds Road, Barwick Road and Coombe Valley Road.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Crockshard Hill, Wingham, CT3 1NZ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow utility works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Crockshard Hill, Wingham, on or after 7th September 2026 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside Crockshard Barn, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Crockshard Lane, B2046 Adisham Road, B2046 High Street, Staple Road, Goodnestone Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Durlock Road, Ash & Staple (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow fibre works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Durlock Road, Ash & Staple, on or after 7th September 2026 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from outside Glyndale to outside Thatch Cottage, between the hours of 08:00 and 17:00 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Durlock Road, School Lane, The Street, Staple Road, B2046 High Street, A257 High Street, A257 Gobery Hill, A257 Roman Road, A257 Pedding Hill, Pedding Hill, Guilton and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Markland Road, Dover, CT17 9LR (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow utility works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Markland Road, Dover, on or after 24th August 2026 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside number 23, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Markland Road, Reading Road, Elms Vale Road, Church Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



St Georges Road, Sandwich, CT13 9JP (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow fibre works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of St Georges Road, Sandwich, on or after 27th August 2026 for up to 2 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed at the junction of New Street, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via New Street, Cattle Market, Harnet Street, Strand Street, High Street, The Quay, Knightrider Street, Sandown Road, St Georges Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Strakers Hill, East Studdal, CT15 5BS (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Strakers Hill, East Studdal, on or after 26th August 2026 for up to 3 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside Ferns Hollow, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Strakers Hill, Roman Road, Homestead Lane and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Thornton Lane, Eastry, CT13 0EU (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow fibre works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Thornton Lane, Eastry, on or after 24th August 2026 for up to 3 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside the entrance to Pine Tree Cottage, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Thornton Lane, Thornton Road, Pike Road, Venson Road, A256 Whitfield By-pass From C237 Venson Road To Entry A256 Roundabout, Dover Road, Lower Street, Mill Lane, Heronden Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Vicarage Lane, Nonington, CT15 4HT (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow fibre works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Vicarage Lane, Nonington, on or after 24th August 2026 for up to 3 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from outside a property called Hillside to the junction of Easole Street, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Easole Street, Beauchamps Lane, Pinners Lane, Vicarage Lane and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Willow Woods Road, Little Mongeham, CT14 0FZ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Willow Woods Road, Little Mongeham, on or after 7th September 2026 for up to 3 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside Fairview, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Deal Road, Northbourne Road, A256 Eastry Bypass, A256 Whitfield Bypass From C237 Venson Road To Entry A256 Roundabout, A256 Whitfield Bypass From C227 Kennel Hill To C237 Venson Road, Boys Hill, Willow Woods Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Various Roads, Deal (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING & SUSPENSION OF ONE-WAY) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow resurfacing works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Various Roads, Deal, on or after 7th September 2026 for up to 4 days or until the works have been completed.

Restrictions will be imposed between the hours of 19:00 and 05:00 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

West Street will be closed between the junctions of Western Road and Stanhope Road.

The one-way Order for Duke Street will be suspended between the junctions of West Street and High Street.

The one-way Order for Union Road will be suspended between the junctions of West Street and High Street.

The one-way Order for Century Walk will be suspended between the junctions of St Andrews Road and West Street.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Western Road, Albert Road, A258 London Road, West Street and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
