What is happening?

Highways

Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, makes or intends to make the following Orders.

ASHFORD AREA

Ashford Road, Magpie Hall Road & Steeds Lane, Kingsnorth. (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING & TEMPORARY 30 MPH SPEED RESTRICTION) TEMPORARY ORDER AUGUST 2026

To allow new service connection works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Ashford Road, Kingsnorth and impose a temporary mandatory 30 mph speed restriction on part of Magpie Hall Road, Ashford Road & Steeds Lane, Kingsnorth. Restrictions are planned, in phases, from 24th August 2026, with estimated completion by 8th October 2026, or until the works have been completed.

Ashford Road will be closed between the junction with Magpie Hall Road and Braeside, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Ashford Road, Hamstreet Road, Hornash Lane, Tally Ho Road, Magpie Hall Road and vice versa.

Magpie Hall Road, Ashford Road and Steeds Lane will have a temporary mandatory 30 mph speed restriction imposed as follows: from Smithfield Farm (Magpie Hall Road) to Taylor Farm (Steeds Lane) and from St Helens (Ashford Road) to Alfred Road (Ashford Road).

These works will be carried out in phases. The closure on Ashford Road will be in place for approximately 1 week, with lights in situ for the remainder of the works, in conjunction with the temporary speed restrictions.



Church Road, Kennington, TN24 9DG (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER AUGUST 2026

To allow new service connection works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Church Road, Kennington from 24th August 2026, with estimated completion by 30th August 2026, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside Vine Hollow, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Church Road, Ulley Road, A2042 Faversham Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Goodcheap Lane, Wye, TN25 5NS (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER SEPTEMBER 2026

To allow pole and cabling works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Goodcheap Lane, Wye from 9th September 2026 with estimated completion by 10th September 2026, between the hours of 08:00 and 17:00, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed approximately 100m south of Rocks Cottage, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Goodcheap Lane, Blackwall Road, Road From Naccolt Road To Blackwall Road, Naccolt Road, Hinxhill Road From Junction With Goodcheap Lane To Nackolt Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Gribble Bridge Lane, Biddenden.​ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER AUGUST 2026

To allow pole and cabling works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Gribble Bridge Lane, Biddenden from 27th August 2026 with estimated completion by 28th August 2026, between the hours of 08:00 and 17:00, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed approximately 70m east of Gribble Bridge Farm, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Gribble Bridge Lane, Benenden Road, Tenterden Road, Biddenden Road, Bugglesden Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



High Halden Road From Pb To Pb, High Halden, TN26 3HX (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER AUGUST 2026

To allow pole and cabling works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of High Halden Road From Pb To Pb, High Halden from 27th August 2026 with estimated completion by 28th August 2026, between the hours 08:00 and 17:00, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside The Potteries Scrap Cars, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via High Halden Road From Pb To Pb, Pot Kiln Lane, Smarden Road, Bethersden Road, Biddenden Road, The Cut, A274 Headcorn Road, North Street, Tenterden Road, High Halden Road, Bush Lane and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Kingsford Street, Mersham, TN25 6PF (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER AUGUST 2026

To allow heavy jetting and CCTV works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Kingsford Street, Mersham from 20:00 hours on 24th August 2026, with estimated completion by 05:00 hours on 25th August 2026, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed between Ransley House and Kingsford Hall, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

There is no alternative route for this closure, however, residential and emergency access will be maintained at all times when it is safe to do so.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Littlebrook Road, Ashford.​ (PROHIBITION OF PEDESTRIANS) TEMPORARY ORDER SEPTEMBER 2026

To allow cable installation works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting pesdestrians from travelling on part of Littlebrook Road, Ashford footpath from 10th September 2026, with estimated completion by 20th September 2026, or until the works have been completed.

The footpath will be closed between numbers 13 Repton Manor Road and 15 Littlebrook Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for pedestrians is via Littlebrook Road, Repton Manor Road and vice versa.



Meadow Road, Ashford, TN23 3HD (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER SEPTEMBER 2026

To allow new service connection works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Meadow Road, Ashford from 7th September 2026, with estimated completion by 13th September 2026, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed between number 1 and the junction with Repton Manor Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

There is no alternative route for this closure, however, residential and emergency access will be maintained at all times when it is safe to do so.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Oxenturn Road, Wye, TN25 5AT (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER SEPTEMBER 2026

To allow new service connection works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Oxenturn Road, Wye from 7th September 2026, with estimated completion by 13th September 2026, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside number 21, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Oxenturn Road, Naccolt Road, Spelders Hill, Nats Lane, The Street, Amage Road, Coldharbour Lane, Scotton Street, Upper Bridge Street and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Pilgrims Way, Boughton Aluph, TN25 4JB (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER SEPTEMBER 2026

To allow pole and cabling works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Pilgrims Way, Boughton Aluph from 8th September 2026 with estimated completion by 9th September 2026, between the hours of 08:00 and 17:00, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside Valleyrood, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Wye Road, A28 Canterbury Road, Church Lane, Pilgrims Way and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Pluckley Road, Bethersden, TN26 3ET (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER SEPTEMBER 2026

To allow utility works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Pluckley Road, Bethersden from 7th September 2026, with estimated completion by 9th September 2026, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of The Willows, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Pluckley Road, End Of Pluckley Road At River Beult To Chambers Green Road, Station Approach, Chambers Green Road, Smarden Road, The Pinnock, Bell Lane, Smarden Bell Road, Burnthouse Lane, Biddenden Road, Bethersden Road, Bull Lane, Ashford Road, Forge Hill, Mill Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Repton Manor Road, Ashford, TN24 8UA (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER SEPTEMBER 2026

To allow new service connection works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Repton Manor Road, Ashford from 7th September 2026, with estimated completion by 13th September 2026, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed between the junctions with Manor Way and Meadow Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic northbound is via Repton Manor Road, Chart Road, A292 Chart Road, Maidstone Road and South Of Simone Weil Roundabout.

The alternative route for any through traffic southbound is via Repton Manor Road, A292 Maidstone Road South Of Simone Weil Roundabout, Simone Weil Roundabout, Warren Lane, Maidstone Road, New Street and Chart Road.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Sparkeswood Avenue, Rolvenden, TN17 4NB (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER SEPTEMBER 2026

To allow heavy jetting and CCTV works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Sparkeswood Avenue, Rolvenden from 8th September 2026 for up to one day, between the hours of 09:00 and 15:30, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed between the junctions with A28 High Street and Tenterden Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via A28 High Street, Tenterden Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Victoria Road, Ashford, TN23 4AR (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER AUGUST 2026

To allow tower crane dismantling works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Victoria Road, Ashford from 06:00 hours on 24th August 2026, with estimated completion by 18:00 hours on 25th August 2026, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed between the junctions with Gasworks Lane and Victoria Crescent, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for traffic heading westbound from A2042 Avenue Jaques Faucheux or Beaver Road is via A2042 Beaver Road, Elwick Road, Godinton Road, West Street, Forge Lane, A292 New Street, Chart Road, Maidstone Road, Maidstone Road South Of Simone Weil Roundabout, Simone Weil Roundabout, A28 Templer Way, Chart Road Roundabout, Great Chart Bypass and B2229 Brookfield Road.

The alternative route for traffic heading westbound from A2042 Beaver Road or Beaver Road is via A2042 Avenue Jacques Faucheux, Romney Marsh Road, B2229 Norman Road, Beaver Road, Beaver Lane and Brookfield Road.

The alternative route for traffic heading eastbound from A28 Chart Road is via B2229 Brookfield Road, Beaver Lane, Beaver Road, Norman Road, A2042 Romney Marsh Road and Avenue Jacques Faucheux.

The alternative route for traffic heading eastbound from B2229 Beaver Lane is via B2229 Brookfield Road, A28 Great Chart Bypass, Chart Road, Chart Road Roundabout, Templer Way, Simone Weil Roundabout, A292 Maidstone Road South Of Simone Weil Roundabout, Maidstone Road, New Street, Forge Lane, West Street, Godinton Road, Elwick Road and A2042 Beaver Road.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



West Street, Hothfield, TN26 1DX (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER SEPTEMBER 2026

To allow utility works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of West Street, Hothfield from 7th September 2026, with estimated completion by 10th September 2026, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of Hope Cottage, Hothfield Bogs, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via West Street, Little Chart Road, Swan Lane, Charing Road, Pluckley Road, Station Road, A20 Maidstone Road, Ashford Road, Maidstone Road, Maidstone Road North Of Drovers Roundabout, Maidstone Road, Cades Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
