What is happening?

SUFFOLK COUNTY COUNCIL

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984: SECTION 14

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE C691 BARTON ROAD AND THURSTON ROAD, THURSTON AND GREAT BARTON

Suffolk County Council intends to make an Order closing the following roads:

  • C691 Barton Road, Thurston from Mere Lodge to the junction with Mill Lane
  • C691 Thurston Road, Great Barton.

This is to facilitate carriageway patching. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be the A143, Thurston Road, Pakenham, Ixworth Road, Norton Road, Barton Road Thurston and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 27/08/2026 - 28/08/2026 from 8am - 5pm but, if necessary, the Order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE U8801 PLOUGH LANE, SUDBURY

Suffolk County Council has made an Order closing the U8801 Plough Lane, Sudbury from the A131 to Straw Lane to facilitate a water stop tap replacement. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be Plough Lane, the B1115, the A131 and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 18/08/2026 - 19/08/2026 but, if necessary, the Order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE F8940 SHEEPSHEAD HILL UNASSOCIATED FOOTWAY, GREAT CORNARD

Suffolk County Council has made an Order closing the F8940 Sheepshead Hill Unassociated Footway, Great Cornard from no. 50 for 15 metres north eastbound to facilitate a water stop tap replacement. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

The diversion route will be Sheepshead Hill, Sheepshead Hill Unassociated Footway and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 18/08/2026 - 19/08/2026 but, if necessary, the Order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE C449 STRAIGHT ROAD, BATTISFORD

Suffolk County Council has made an Order closing the C449 Straight Road, Battisford from Burnthouse Lane to Brackenberry to facilitate tree branch removal and vegetation clearance. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be Straight Road, Bowl Corner, Bowl Road, Bildeston Road, Park Road, Tannery Road, Moats Tye, Deadmans Lane and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate on 18/08/2026 from 10am - 3pm but, if necessary, the Order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

Suffolk County Council has made an Order closing the C310 Dallinghoo Road, Bredfield from Moat Farmhouse for 20 metres southbound to facilitate repairs to a water manhole cover and frame. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be Boulge Road, Bredfield, Scotts Lane, Bredfield, Scotts Lane, Boulge, Debach Road, Boulge, Woodbridge Road, Debach, the B1078 and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 18/08/2026 - 19/08/2026 but, if necessary, the Order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE U4130 CHURCH LANE, BRANTHAM

Suffolk County Council intends to make an Order closing the U4130 Church Lane, Brantham from 10 metres southwest of the junction with the A137 for 42 metres south westbound to facilitate a pole replacement. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be Ipswich Road, Church Lane and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate on 27/08/2026 from 8am - 6pm. If necessary, the Order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

Suffolk County Council intends to make an Order closing the U4612 Silver Street, Old Newton from no. 7 - no. 20 to facilitate pole and overhead wiring works. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be Station Road, the B1113, Silver Street and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate on 27/08/2026 from 8am - 6pm. If necessary, the Order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).
