SUFFOLK COUNTY COUNCIL ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984: SECTION 14

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF FOOTPATH 20, ASSINGTON

Suffolk County Council has made an order closing Footpath 20, Assington from 170 metres east of the junction with The Street for 120 metres eastbound to facilitate resurfacing works. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

The diversion route will be Footpath 20, The Street, northbound, then eastbound until the junction with Footpath 12 going southbound for the entirety of Footpath 12 going westbound from the junction with Footpath 12 and Barrack Road then Northbound from the junction with The Street and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 17/08/2026 - 28/08/2026 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 6 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

Suffolk County Council has made an order closing the following roads:

1. A1189 Ransomes Way, Ipswich

2. U5748 James Bennett Avenue, Ipswich.

This is to facilitate carriageway resurfacing. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion routes will be:

1. A1156, the A14, the A1189 and vice versa.

2. Crane Boulevard, the A1189 and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 16/08/2026 - 29/08/2026 from 8pm - 5am. If necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).
