SUFFOLK COUNTY COUNCIL ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984: SECTION 14

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF FOOTPATH 20, ASSINGTON

Suffolk County Council has made an order closing Footpath 20, Assington from 170 metres east of the junction with The Street for 120 metres eastbound to facilitate resurfacing works. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

The diversion route will be Footpath 20, The Street, northbound, then eastbound until the junction with Footpath 12 going southbound for the entirety of Footpath 12 going westbound from the junction with Footpath 12 and Barrack Road then Northbound from the junction with The Street and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 17/08/2026 - 28/08/2026 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 6 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF THE A1189 RANSOMES WAY AND U5748 JAMES BENNET AVENUE, IPSWICH

Suffolk County Council has made an order closing the following roads:

1. A1189 Ransomes Way, Ipswich

2. U5748 James Bennett Avenue, Ipswich.

This is to facilitate carriageway resurfacing. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion routes will be:

1. A1156, the A14, the A1189 and vice versa.

2. Crane Boulevard, the A1189 and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 16/08/2026 - 29/08/2026 from 8pm - 5am. If necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE B1075 OLD CATTLE MARKET AND DOGS HEAD STREET, IPSWICH

Suffolk County Council has made an order closing the following roads:

• B1075 Old Cattle Market, Ipswich from Silent Street to Dogs Head Street

• B1075 Dogs Head Street, Ipswich from Old Cattle market to Lower Brook Street.

This is to facilitate remedial water works. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be Civic Drive, St Matthews Street, Crown Street, St Margarets Street, Woodbridge Road, Argyle Street, Grimwade Street, St Helens Street, Fore Street, Tackett Street with no vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 17/08/2026 - 19/08/2026 from 8pm - 6am. If necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE A137 BRIDGE STREET AND B1073 STOKE STREET, IPSWICH

Suffolk County Council has made an order closing the following roads:

• A137 Bridge Street, Ipswich at the junction with Stoke Street

• B1073 Stoke Street, Ipswich from Burrell Road to Bridge Street.

This is to facilitate a stop tap replacement. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

The diversion route will be Bridge Street, Vernon Street, Hawes Street, Vernon Street, Bridge Street, Grafton Way, Commercial Road, West End Road, London Road, Ranelagh Road, Burell Road with no vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 7pm on 18/08/2026 - 6am on 19/08/2026 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

Suffolk County Council has made an order prohibiting waiting on the U4613 Gatacre Road, Ipswich from no. 14 to no. 32 on both sides of the carriageway to facilitate charging point installation and connection.

The diversion route will be Rectory Road, Sandy Lane, the B1078, the A140, the A1120, Ipswich Way, Debenham Road, Gosbeck Road, Ipswich Road, the road from the U4707 to the U4729, Helmingham Road, the B1078 and vice versa.

For the duration of this closure there will also be a temporary suspension of the 7.5 weight restriction on the U4713 Rectory Road, Hemingstone from Sandy Lane to Bulls Road.

It is intended that these measures will operate from 17/08/2026 - 25/08/2026 but, if necessary, the Order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).
