What is happening?

CAMBRIDGESHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL

Whitehill Road, Cambridge Temporary Prohibition Of Through Traffic – Order 2026-21015

Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Whitehill Road, Cambridge as lies between Nos. 2a & 8.

The alternative route for vehicles is via A1134; Rayson Way; Rawlyn Rd; Stanesfield Rd & vice versa.

The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate new gas connection & associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway. It is anticipated that these works will take place between 22/9 & 24/9/26, when the restriction is expected to be in operation. The Order will remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months from the date it comes into effect to permit the works & any associated contingencies including delays or phased delivery of the works.

Shelford Road A1301, Cambridge Temporary Suspension Of Cycle Lane – Order 2026-210120

Will be to temporarily suspend the cycle lane as lies between Cranleigh Close & Bishops Road.

During the period this Order remains in force The City of Cambridge Area G (Consolidation) Order 1993 as amended by The City of Cambridge Area G (Consolidation) Order 1993 (Amendment No. 22A) Order 2000; Schedule 22 dual use cycle track, Shelford Road the footpath on the northeast side from a point 66 metres southeast of the centreline of Cranleigh Close for a distance of 34 metres in a southeasterly direction is hereby suspended. The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate telecommunications & associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway.

It is anticipated that these works will take place between 09:00hrs & 15:00hrs 4/9/26, when the restriction is expected to be in operation. This Order shall be in force when the signs are in place at each end of the above section of road whilst works taking place on Shelford Road A1301, Cambridge are in progress. The Order will remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months from the date it comes into effect to permit the works & any associated contingencies including delays or phased delivery of the works.

Round Church Street & Park Street, Cambridge Temporary Prohibition Of Use – Order 2026-21074

Is to stop any pedestrian from proceeding along Round Church Street & Park Street, Cambridge as lies between Bridge Street & Jesus Lane. The alternative route for pedestrians will be as signed. The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate carriageway resurfacing & associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway. It is anticipated that these works will take place between 1/9 & 14/9/26, when the restriction is expected to be in operation. The Order will remain in force for a maximum period of 6 months from the date it comes into effect to permit the works & any associated contingencies including delays or phased delivery of the works.

Bridge Street & Magdelene Street, Cambridge Temporary Prohibition Of Through Traffic – Order 2026-21126

Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Bridge Street & Magdelene Street, Cambridge as lies between Jesus Lane & Chesterton Lane. The alternative route for vehicles is via A1303; A1134; Victoria Ave; Jesus Ln & vice versa. The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate gully cleaning & associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway. It is anticipated that these works will take place between 28/9 & 30/9/26, when the restriction is expected to be in operation.

The Order will remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months from the date it comes into effect to permit the works & any associated contingencies including delays or phased delivery of the works.

Kings Hedges Road, Impington Temporary Prohibition Of Through Traffic – Order 2026-21145

Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Kings Hedges Road, Impington as lies between Cambridge Road & Arbury Road. The alternative route for vehicles is via Arbury Rd; St Albans Rd; Roseford Rd; B1049 & vice versa. The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate gully cleaning & associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway. It is anticipated that these works will take place between 10/9 & 12/9/26, when the restriction is expected to be in operation. The Order will remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months from the date it comes into effect to permit the works & any associated contingencies including delays or phased delivery of the works.

Cambridge Road (B1049), Impington Temporary Suspension Of Cycle Lane – Order 2026-21172

Will be to temporarily suspend the cycle lane as lies between Blackhall Road & Access Road To Hotel & Lake. During the period this Order remains in force The City of Cambridge Area B (Consolidation) Order 1993; Schedule 23 Part 2 Mandatory with flow cycle lane Cambridge Road, Impington on both sides of the carriageway from its junction with Histon Road to its junction with Kings Hedges Road is hereby suspended. The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate gully cleaning & associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway. It is anticipated that these works will take place between 23/9 & 26/9/26, when the restriction is expected to be in operation. This Order shall be in force when the signs are in place at each end of the above section of road whilst works taking place on Cambridge Road (B1049), Impington are in progress. The Order will remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months from the date it comes into effect to permit the works & any associated contingencies including delays or phased delivery of the works.

Robins Lane, Lolworth Temporary Prohibition Of Through Traffic – Order 2026-21192

Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Robins Lane, Lolworth as lies between High Street & bridge over A14. The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate drainage investigation, jetting, gully cleansing & associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway. It is anticipated that these works will take place between 08:00hrs & 17:00hrs 2/9/26, when the restriction is expected to be in operation. The Order will remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months from the date it comes into effect to permit the works & any associated contingencies including delays or phased delivery of the works.

Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along various roads, as set out in Schedule 1 below. Nothing in this Order shall prevent access & egress from premises or land adjacent to the highway mentioned in Schedule 1. The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate carriageway resurfacing & associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway. NOTICE is given that Cambridgeshire County Council intends within 7 days, to make an Order pursuant to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991 the effect of which is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along various roads, as set out in Schedule 1 below. Nothing in this Order shall prevent access & egress from premises or land adjacent to the highway mentioned in Schedule 1.

Schedule – Roads & parts of roads on which any vehicle other than a pedal cycle, electric scooter, bus, hackney carriage or private hire vehicle is prohibited between the hours of 7.00am & 7.00pm on all days. Hills Road – On the west side from its junction with Bateman Street to a point 30 metres southeast of its junction with Union Road. Hills Road – On the west side from its junction with Purbeck Road to its junction with Homerton Street.

Hills Road – On its West side from a point 13 metres north of its junction with Brooklands Avenue to a point 70 metres south of its junction with Bateman Street.

The Order of 1993 shall be amended & have effect by the addition of Schedule 23 Part 1 as specified by the Fourth Schedule to the Order. Fourth Schedule. Schedule 23 Part 3 – Mandatory with flow cycle lane in which waiting is permitted for the purpose of delivering or collecting goods or merchandise or loading or unloading vehicles between 10am & 4pm & between 7pm & 7am on all days. Hills Road – On its west side from its junction with Long Road to a point 38 metres north of its junction with Purbeck Road.

The Order of 1993 shall be amended & have effect as though the following additions were made to Schedule 23 Part 2: Hills Road – On its west side from a point 60 metres south of the centreline of Homerton Street for a distance of 43 metres in a southerly direction. Hills Road – On its east side from a point 11 metres south of the centreline of Homerton Street for a distance of 47 metres in a southerly direction. Hills Road – On its east side from a point 73 metres south of the centreline of Homerton Street for a distance of 20 metres in a southerly direction. Hills Road – On its east side from a point 38 metres north of the centreline of Homerton Street for a distance of 16 metres in a southerly direction.

7/9 & 11/9/26 Hills Rd, Cambridge The City of Cambridge Area G (Consolidation) Order 1993 (Amendment No.36) Order 2011. 6.The Order of 1993 shall be amended & have effect as though the following additions were made to Schedule 23 Part 2: Hills Road – On its west side from a point 38 metres north of the centreline of its junction with Homerton Street northwards for 183 metres. Hills Road – On its east side from a point 3 metres south of the centreline of its junction with Brooklands Avenue southwards for 30 metres. Hills Road – On its east side from a point 80 metres south of the centreline of its junction with Brooklands Avenue southwards for 131 metres. 7.The Order of 1993 shall be amended & have effect by the addition of Schedule 23 Part 3 as specified by the SCHEDULE to this Order. SCHEDULE Schedule 23 – Cycle Lanes. Part 3 – Mandatory with flow offset cycle lane. Hills Road – On its west side from a point 322 metres north of the centreline of its junction with Homerton Street northwards for 15 metres. Hills Road – On its east side from a point 252 metres south of the centreline of its junction with Brooklands Avenue southwards for 84 metres.

Access will be maintained to properties affected by these orders. The above orders shall not apply to any persons lawfully engaged in connection with any works for which it is made, any member of the Police Force, Fire & Rescue Service, Ambulance Service, a vehicle being used by Special Forces during the execution of their duties or to any person acting with the permission or upon the direction of a Police Officer in uniform.
