WEST NORTHAMPTONSHIRE COUNCIL

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984

(SCALDWELL ROAD, HARBOROUGH ROAD & MERCEDES AVENUE,  BRIXWORTH) (30 AND 40 MILES PER HOUR SPEED LIMIT) ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that West Northamptonshire Council, in exercise of its powers under Section 84 and Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, proposes to make an Order to introduce a 30 and 40 mile per hour speed limit on those lengths of roads described in the Schedule to this notice.

The effect of the proposed Order will be to prohibit any person from driving a motor vehicle at a speed exceeding 30 and 40 miles per hour on the roads as specified in the Schedules to the draft Order and as detailed in the schedules to this Notice.

A COPY of the proposed Order, together with a plan showing the exact lengths of roads to which it relates and a statement of the Council’s reasons for proposing to make the Order, may be inspected on the Council’s website at www.westnorthants.gov.uk (search traffic regulation orders) and may also be inspected at Kier Highways, Brixworth Depot, Harborough Road, Brixworth, Northants, NN6 9BX at a time and date specified by appointment only by calling 01604 529700.

MAKING REPRESENTATIONS OR OBJECTIONS Any person wishing to object to, support, or make representations regarding the proposed Order must do so in writing, stating the grounds on which they are made, quoting reference number P2192 to: Traffic Orders Section, Kier Highways, Brixworth Depot, Old Harborough Road, Brixworth, NN6 9BX or by email to: WNCParkingenquiries@kier.co.uk All representations must be received no later than 3rd September 2026.

Mercedes Avenue Brixworth From its junction with Scaldwell Road northwards for a distance of 257 metres
Morgan Drive Brixworth From its junction with Mercedes Avenue westwards for a distance of 12 metres

SCHEDULE 2

40 mile per hour speed limit

Road Town/Village Description
Scaldwell Road Brixworth From a point 65 metres east of the centre line of its junction with Quarry Road, eastwards to its junction with the northern arm of Scaldwell Road, being the section of Scaldwell Road extending north from Holcot Road.
Scaldwell Road Brixworth From a point 46 metres south of the centre point of the roundabout at its junction with Scaldwell Road, northwards for a distance of 98 metres
