Temporary Road Closure Order

South Lanarkshire Council, in exercise of the powers conferred on them by Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Road Traffic 

(Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, and of all other enabling powers, has made the following Order:-

This Order may be cited as “South Lanarkshire Council, Glassford Road, Strathaven, Temporary Road Closure Order” and shall come into operation between 8am 21 September 2026 and 6pm 27 September 2026.

The restrictions will be applied on site by the display of traffic signs prescribed by the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016.

Whilst this order remains in force no person shall park, drive or cause or permit to be driven any motor vehicle on the sections of road specified in Schedule 1 by reason of BT apparatus maintenance.

Nothing in Article 2 of this Order shall prevent the driving upon the said road by any vehicle which is being used in connection with the BT apparatus maintenance or by emergency service vehicles.

Schedule 1 – Temporary Road Closure – Glassford Road, Strathaven

Glassford Road, Strathaven, between Holeburn Bridge and a point 1.3km south-west thereof.

Alternative Route
Via Glassford Road, A723, Bents and Station Highway, Station Road, Jackson Street, Millar Street and vice versa
