What is happening?

VARIOUS LOCATIONS SEPTEMBER, NORTH TYNESIDE
TEMPORARY RESTRICTION OF TRAFFIC ORDER 2026
North Tyneside Council gives notice that it intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make Orders under Section 14 (1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of the Orders prohibits all through traffic on the following, and as and when signage indicates:
NORTH SHIELDS
Footpath at the rear of number 44 Newington Drive.
An alternate route is available via Newington Drive, Malvern Road, Beachborough Close.
The proposed temporary Order is required to install poly ducting in footpath in addition to 1 toby box.
The Order will come into force on 1st September 2026 for a period not exceeding 7 days.

Park Crescent East Lane from the junction with Kitchener Terrace to the rear of number 4 Park Crescent East.
An alternate route is available via Kitchener Terrace, Park Crescent East.
The proposed temporary Order is required to renew service due to lead content, excavate to renew connections. Install new chamber and lay new pipe between main and boundary.
The Order will come into force on 1st September 2026 for a period not exceeding
4 days.

The Order will come into force on 22nd September 2026 for a period not exceeding 2 days.

There is no alternative route however access to be given to residents when possible.
The proposed temporary Order is required to replace an existing BT telegraph pole.

TYNEMOUTH
Edith Street Lane at the rear of numbers 6-7 Edith Street.
An alternate route is available via Edith Street Lane, Edith Street, Dene Road.
The proposed temporary Order is required to excavate and install a boundary box and meter.
The Order will come into force on 8th September 2026 for a period not exceeding 5 days.

The Order will come into force on 21st September 2026 for a period not exceeding 1 day.

WHITLEY BAY
Esplanade Lane Rear Of 39 To 64, Esplanade Place Lane at the side and rear of 8-18 and Esplanade Place
An alternate route is available via Esplanade and nearby lanes
The proposed temporary Order is required To carry out CCTV survey to the sewer 08:00 - 16:00 only. This will be a rolling road closure so only 1 section closed at a time
The Order will come into force on 16th September 2026 for a period not exceeding 1 day.

• Wilton Drive from the junction with Sandringham Drive to outside number 1 Wilton Drive.
An alternate route is available via Earsdon Road, Marina Drive, Braemar Gardens, Sandringham Drive.
The proposed temporary Order is required to insert a new 125mm water main, chlorinate pipe and pressure test. To complete road crossing utilising road closure backfill and reinstate.
The Order will come into force on 28th September 2026 for a period not exceeding 12 days.
