What is happening?

THE CITY OF SOUTHAMPTON (TERMINUS TERRACE) (ROAD CLOSURE) (151/67) TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that in accordance with Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 Southampton City Council intends to make the above Order.

1. The effect of the Order will be to close Terminus Terrace from its junction with Canute Road to its junction with Bernard Street.

2. The Order is required because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the road. These works are for road markings and signage.

3. The alternative route will be Canute Road, Royal Crescent Road, Saltmarsh Road, Central Bridge, Terminus Terrace & Platform Road, Town Quay, Mayflower Roundabout, Town Quay, High Street and Bernard Street.

4. The Order will come into force on 3rd September 2026 and has a maximum duration of 18 months or until the completion of the works, whichever is sooner. It is expected that the works will be complete by 4th September 2026.
