(FOOTPATH NO. 109077 IN THE CITY OF CARLISLE)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF PEDESTRIANS) ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable Electricity North West to remove a redundant electricity pylon and associated cables (“the Works”), Cumberland Council intends to make an Order the effect of which is to prohibit pedestrians from proceeding along an approx. 80 metre length of Public Footpath No. 109077 in the City of Carlisle between grid references 338520 556574 and 338478 556511.

There is no suitable alternative route available for pedestrians, however at times when works are underway, the applicant will provide a suitable alternative permissive route, which shall be signed on site.

The Order will come into operation on 1 September 2026 and may continue in force for a period of up to six months from that date as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed, although it is anticipated that it will only be required for 1 month.
