(U1132 TOWNHEAD ROAD, DALSTON AND C1016 CARGO)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF ALL TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable utility works to be carried out (“the Works”), Cumberland Council intends to make an Order the effect of which is to prohibit all traffic (i.e. vehicles, pedestrians and cyclists), from proceeding along the following sections of road:
- U1132 Townhead Road, Dalston, from its junction with Glawe Hill, extending in a south westerly direction for approx. 60m.
Alternative Route: via the unrestricted sections of the U1132, U1136, Nook Lane C2048, and B5299.
Duration: From 7 September 2026 for approx. 3 days (Ref: TTROC/19502)
- C1016 Cargo, from its junction with the U1116, extending in a north westerly direction for approx. 70m.
Alternative Route: via the unrestricted sections of the C1016, A689, Kingmoor Road, Kingsway C1022 Parkhouse Road and C1015.
Duration: From 14 September 2026 for approx. 3 days (Ref: TTROC/19598)

The Order will come into operation on 7 September 2026 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restrictions will only be required as detailed above, and only as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.
