PUBLIC PATH DIVERSION AND DEFINITIVE MAP AND STATEMENT MODIFICATION ORDER 2024 (2)

On 28/1/25 Staffordshire County Council confirmed and on 2/10/25 they certified the above order made under Section 119 of the Highways Act 1980 and Section 53A(2) of the Wildlife & Countryside Act 1981.

The effect of the order as confirmed and certified is to divert the full width of that part of Public Footpath No 8 Maer commencing at Grid Reference 376130 340291 and running in a generally east-north-easterly then northnorth- easterly direction for a distance of some 153 metres to Grid Reference 376243 340380to a line commencing at Grid Reference 376122 340296 and running north-north-easterly for some 81 metres to Grid Reference 376173 340360 then east-north-easterly for some 72 metres to Grid Reference 376243 340380 as shown on the Order Map. It will also modify the Definitive Map and Statement for the Borough of Newcastle-under-Lyme accordingly.

A copy of the Order as confirmed and certified and the Order map have been placed and may be seen free of charge during normal office hours at the offices of Staffordshire County Council, Corporate Reception, 1 Staffordshire Place, Stafford, ST16 2LP Mon-Fri. 8.30 am to 5.00 pm. Copies of the Orders and maps may be bought there at the price of 10p per A4 page; £2 per map.

The order comes into force as from the date it is certified, but if any person aggrieved by the order wants to question the validity, or that any provision contained in it, on the ground that it is not within the powers of the Highways Act 1980 as amended or Wildlife and Countryside Act 1980, as amended, or on the ground that any requirements of the Acts, as amended, or of any regulation made under the Acts, has not been complied with in relation to the order, he or she may, under paragraph 2 of schedule 2 of the Act as applied by paragraph 5 of schedule 6 of the Act, within six weeks from 20/8/26, make application to the High Court.
