Public Footpath 66 (Egham) Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2026

On 27 August 2026 Surrey County Council will make the above-mentioned temporary order, the effect of which is to prohibit all traffic on foot or by any other means from entering or proceeding along Public Footpath 66 (Egham) from grid ref: 502094 171856 heading east to grid ref: 502193 171821.

The Order is necessary in the interest of public safety due to works being undertaken to replace the bridge. The closure will be in operation for a period of six months from 1 September 2026 or until completion of the works, if earlier. That period can be extended by the Secretary of State for Transport if required

The temporary closure will only be in operation when appropriate road traffic signs are displayed on site by the County Council or an authorised person acting on its behalf. Access to properties will not be affected.

The alternative route is as follows from grid ref 502094 171856 – Head West along Footpath 66 for approximately 300 metres to footpath to Egham 83, head south until you reach the A30 (Windsor Road) and cross at the traffic lights at Runnymede Junction. Head East under the underpass and continue along The Glanty/A308 The Causeway to River Park Avenue. Head North onto footpath 66 Egham then head West for approximately 650 metres to grid ref 502193 171821. This route is the opposite in reverse.

The Public Footpath 66 (Egham) temporary prohibition of traffic order 2026 will be made by the County Council under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
