Cumberland - Multiple Temporary Road Closures Due To Utility Works

CUMBERLAND COUNCIL (BLACKWELL ROAD (BACK LANE), CARLISLE, U1008 MOAT AND U1281 LOW CRINDLEDYKE) (TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable utility works to be carried out (“the Works”), Cumberland Council has made an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along the following sections of road:

1. Blackwell Road (back lane) Carlisle, from its junction with Mayson Street, extending in a south westerly direction for approx. 50 m.

Alternative Route: via the unrestricted section of Blackwell Road (back lane), Blackwell Road and Mayson Street.

Duration: From 17 August 2026 for approx. 2 days between 0830 and 1630 hours, each day (Ref: TTROC/19254)

2. U1008 Moat, from its junction with the C1001, extending in a north westerly direction for approx. 130 m.

There is no suitable alternative route available for vehicles.

Duration: From 18 August 2026 for approx. 2 days between 0830 and 1630 hours, each day (Ref: TTROC/19257)

3. U1281 Low Crindledyke, from its junction with the U1071, extending in a north easterly direction for approx. 80m.

Alternative Route: via the unrestricted section of the U1281, C1002, C1015 and U1071.

Duration: From 7 September 2026 for approx. 2 days between 0830 and 1630 hours, each day (Ref: TTROC/19395)

A way for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times

The Order will come into operation on 17 August 2026 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restrictions will only be required as detailed above, and only as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.
