What is happening?

Highways Act 1980 Section 119, Herefordshire Council, Public Footpath CW29C (Part) Colwall, Public Path Diversion Order 2026

On 1st June, 2026 Herefordshire Council (“the Council”) confirmed the above Order under section 119 Highways Act 1980 (“the Act”).

The effect of the order, as confirmed, is to divert that part of Public Footpath CW29C in the Parish of Colwall running from OS Grid Reference SO 7467 4257 to OS Grid Reference SO 7472 4249.

An alternative footpath will be created for use as a replacement, being 2 metres in width, running from OS Grid Reference SO 7466 4254 to OS Grid Reference SO 7472 4249.

The Council confirms and certifies that all the provisions of the order have been satisfied and therefore the diversion takes effect on the above said confirmation date of this order, but, if any person aggrieved by the order desires to question its validity or that of any provisions contained in it on the ground that it is not within the powers of the Act, or on the ground that any requirement of that Act, or any regulation made under it has not been complied with in relation to the confirmation of the order, he or she may, under paragraph 2 of Schedule 2 to the Act, as applied by paragraph 5 of Schedule 6 to the Act, within 6 weeks from the date of publication of this notice, make an application to the High Court.

Highways Act 1980 Section 25, the County of Herefordshire District Council, Land at Colwall Orchard and Land at Kimberley House in the Parish of Colwall, Public Path Agreements

On 1st June, 2026 the County of Herefordshire District Council (“the Council”) and Colwall Orchard Trust completed an agreement made under Section 25 of the Highways Act 1980.

The effect of the agreement is to create a footpath maintainable at public expense, having a width of 2 metres, running from OS Grid Reference SO 7472 4270 to OS Grid Reference SO 7473 4254.

On 1st June, 2026 the County of Herefordshire District Council (“the Council”) and Olive Marjorie Carver completed an agreement made under Section 25 of the Highways Act 1980.

The effect of the agreement is to create a footpath maintainable at public expense, having a width of 2 metres, running from OS Grid Reference SO 7473 4254 to OS Grid Reference SO 7472 4249.

Copies of the confirmed order, agreements and plan may be seen free of charge at Blueschool House, Blueschool Street, Hereford, HR1 2AN during normal opening hours. Copies may be purchased on payment of the photocopying charges of the Council. Copies are also available on the Council’s website at www.herefordshire.gov.uk
