What is happening?

(Footpath 104 (Beauchamps Crossing) Wickford)

(Temporary Prohibition of Use) Order 2026

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended).

Effect of the order: To temporarily close Footpath 104 (Beauchamps Crossing) in the Borough of Basildon from Beauchamp Drive southeast for approximately 89 metres across the crossing.

Diversion route: Beauchamps Drive, Hill Avenue, Southend Road, Alicia Walk and vice versa

The closure is scheduled to commence on 21 August 2026 to 07 September 2026 where appropriate signs are showing and weather permitting. The closure is required for the safety of the public to allow the track renewal through foot crossing.

The Order will come into effect on 21 August 2026 and continue in force for 6 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Temporary Prohibition of Use) Order 2026

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended).

Effect of the order: To temporarily close The Broadwalk (footpath/cycleway), Wickford in the Borough of Basildon, from its junction with Twinstead, south to its junction with Speyside Walk.

Diversion routes:

Salcott Crescent, Twinstead and vice versa

Radwinter Avenue, Scott Drive, Tayside Walk and vice versa.

The closure is scheduled to commence on 24 August 2026 to 04 September 2026 where appropriate signs are showing and weather permitting. The closure is required for the safety of the public while the construction of a new outfall manhole is undertaken.

The Order will come into effect on 24 August 2026 and continue in force for 6 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Cheapside East, Rayleigh)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Cheapside East, Rayleigh in the District of Rochford, from a point approximately 275m north west of its junction with Downhall Road for a distance of approximately 35m in a south westerly direction.

The closure is scheduled to commence on 7th September 2026 for 38 days, or where stated on a valid permit (BC411001WGLCCD2R – Openreach). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while duct laying works are undertaken by Openreach. No alternative route is available.

The Order will come into effect on 20th August 2026 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Thundersley Park Road, South Benfleet)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Thundersley Park Road, South Benfleet in the Borough of Castle Point, from a point approximately 35m south west of its junction with Hill Road for a distance of approximately 65m in a south westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 11th September 2026 for 4 days, or where stated on a valid permit (BC411001WH2TDH3F – Openreach). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while pole replacement works are undertaken by Openreach.

An alternative route is available via Thundersley Park Road, Clarence Road North, Hill Road, Thundersley Park Road and vice versa.

The Order will come into effect on 20th August 2026 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Crest Avenue, Pitsea)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Crest Avenue, Pitsea in the Borough of Basildon, from its junction with Rectory Road for a distance of approximately 270m in an easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 24th August 2026 for 5 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EP201EH2405254 – Essex County Council). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while carriageway patching works are undertaken by Essex County Council.

An alternative route is available via Rectory Road and vice versa (with access only into Halstow Way and Crest Avenue).

The Order came into effect on 6th August 2026 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Furlongs, Vange in the Borough of Basildon, from its junction with The Knowle for a distance of approximately 55m in a south easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 24th August 2026 for 19 days, or where stated on a valid permit (BC311006D130863 – Openreach). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while duct laying works are undertaken by Openreach.

An alternative route is available via Furlongs, Mapleford Sweep, Collingwood Road, Furlongs and vice versa.

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Mountnessing Road, Billericay in the Borough of Basildon, from its junction with Mountnessing Road Roundabout for a distance of approximately 15m in a north westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 24th August 2026 for 5 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EN013515950 – Essex and Suffolk Water). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while meter installation works are undertaken by Essex and Suffolk Water.

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Old London Road, Rawreth in the District of Rochford, from a point approximately 260m north east of the junction with London Road for a distance of approximately 205m in a north easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 24th August 2026 for 11 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EN013339213 – Essex and Suffolk Water). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while new connection works are undertaken by Essex and Suffolk Water.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Tye Common Road, Billericay in the Borough of Basildon, from its junction with Wiggins Lane for a distance of approximately 400m in a south westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 24th August 2026 for 1 day, or where stated on a valid permit (BC008FBD76656SB – Openreach). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while pole testing works are undertaken by Openreach.

An alternative route is available via Tye Common Road, Clock House Road, Laindon Common Road, A176, Noak Hill Roundabout, A176, Sun Street Roundabout, A129, Tye Common Road or A129 to London Roundabout, A176, Laindon Common Road, Clock House Road and Tye Common Road.

The Order came into effect on 6th August 2026 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
