Temporary Waiting and Loading Restriction – Various Roads, Clacton on Sea

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that from the date specified below, Colchester Borough Council acting on behalf of the North Essex Parking Partnership in exercise of the delegated powers of the traffic authority Essex County Council granted under an Agreement dated 1 July 2022 proposes to make the following order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, a temporary waiting and loading restriction in the lengths of road and during the date and times specified below. The restriction is required due to the likelihood of danger to the public.

No Waiting and No Loading from 6.00am to 7.00pm on Wednesday 26 August, Thursday 27 August and on Friday 28 August 2026.

Lengths of road at Clacton-on-Sea.

Tower Road, Clacton – North-east side from its junction with Marine Parade West to the north western boundary of no.42 Tower Road, a distance of approximately 150 metres.

Wash Lane – both sides from its junction with West Road to its junction with Freeland Road, a distance of approximately 275 metres.

Hastings Avenue – East side from its junction with West Road for a distance of 100 metres.

Hastings Avenue – South-east side from a point opposite the boundary between nos. 69/71 Hastings Avenue for a distance of 55 metres in a south westerly direction.

Hastings Avenue – Both sides from the boundary between nos. 11/15 Hastings Avenue for a distance of 70 metres in a generally westerly direction.

Selsey Avenue – Both sides from its junction with Hastings Avenue for a distance of 25 metres in a southerly direction.

Link Road – Both sides from its junction with Alton Park Road south east for 15 metres.

Arnold Road – Both sides from its junction with Leas Road south east for 20 metres.

Crown Road – Both sides from its junction with Cherry Tree Avenue in a east and then north east direction for 30 metres.

Queen Elizabeth Avenue – Both sides from its junction with Cherry Tree Avenue east for 25 metres.

Prince Philip Avenue – Both sides from its junction with Cherry Tree Avenue east for 35 metres.

Vista Road – from its northern junction with Skelmersdale Road both sides for 10 metres.

Vista Road – South Side from a point opposite the boundary line of 84/86 north west for 30 metres.

Recreation Road – from its junction with Vista Road both sides southwest for 10 metres.

Valence Way – Both sides from its junction with Vista Road northeast for 10 metres.

Alton Park Road – East side from a point opposite the boundary of numbers 52/54 Alton Park Road to a point opposite the boundary of numbers 60/62 Alton Park Road, a distance of approximately 39 metres.

Anchor Road – Both sides from its junction with Alton Park Road to a point 3 metres west of the boundary of numbers 80/82 Anchor Road for a distance of approximately 18 metres.

Park Road – Both side from junction with Anchor Road to a point level with the boundary wall of number 48 Park Road.

Deal Close – Both sides south west from the junction with Hastings Avenue to the junction with Little Stone Court.

Weymouth Close – Both sides north east from the junction with Hastings Avenue to a point level with the north east facing boundary wall of number 31 Weymouth Close.

No Waiting from 8.00am to 10.00pm on Thursday 27 August 2026 and from 8.00am to 6.00pm on Friday 28 August 2026.

Lengths of road at Clacton-on-Sea.

Nelson Road – both sides approximately 16.5 metres from the junction with Marine Parade East for a distance of approximately 147.0 metres

Cherry Tree Avenue – both sides from its junction with West Road north west for 20 metres

West Road – north side from a point 15 metres west of its junction with Cherry Tree Avenue to a point 15 metres east of the same junction

Collingwood Road – both sides approximately 16.5 metres from the junction with Marine Parade East for a distance of approximately 75.0 metres

St Vincent Road – both sides approximately 15.5 metres from the junction with Marine Parade east for a distance of approximately 147.0 metres

Trafalgar Road – both sides approximately 17.5 metres from the junction with Marine Parade East for a distance of approximately 149.0 metres

Any existing Stopping, Waiting and parking restrictions relating to the above lengths of road contained in The Essex County Council (Tendring District) (Prohibition of Waiting, Loading and Stopping) and (On-Street Parking Places) (Civil Enforcement Area) (Consolidation) Order 2019 will be temporarily suspended for the duration of the above restrictions

(Colchester Road, St Osyth) (Temporary Introduction of 40MPH Speed Restriction) Order 2026

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily introduce a 40MPH speed restriction in that length of Colchester Road, St Osyth in the District of Tendring from a point approximately 250m north west of its junction with Clay Lane for a distance of approximately 560m in a north westerly direction.

The restriction is scheduled to continue from 10th August 2026 for a further 277 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EP40032831828 – City and Country Wellwick Ltd). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The restriction is required for the safety of the public and workforce while bellmouth reconstruction works are undertaken by City and Country Wellwick Ltd.

The Order came into effect on 10th August 2026 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Grange Close, Walton on the Naze)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Grange Close, Walton on the Naze in the District of Tendring, from its junction with Great Harrods for a distance of approximately 40m in a south westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 7th September 2026 for 12 days, or where stated on a valid permit (BC411001WH1PJR7K – Openreach). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while duct laying works are undertaken by Openreach.

No alternative route is available.

The Order will come into effect on 20th August 2026 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Stratford Road, Holland on Sea)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Stratford Road, Holland on Sea in the District of Tendring, from its junction with Finton Road to its junction with Colchester Road a distance of approximately 75m. The closure is scheduled to commence on 7th September 2026 for 5 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EP201EH2316078 – Essex County Council). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while footway patching works are undertaken by Essex County Council.

An alternative route is available via Colchester Road, Ipswich Road, B1032 and vice versa.

The Order will come into effect on 20th August 2026 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Thorpe Road & Lymington Avenue, Clacton on Sea)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order:

1. To temporarily close that length of Thorpe Road, Clacton on Sea in the District of Tendring, from its junction with Farmleigh Avenue for a distance of approximately 150m in a south westerly direction.

2. To temporarily close that length of Lymington Avenue, Clacton on Sea in the District of Tendring, from its junction with Thorpe Road for a distance of approximately 30m in a south easterly direction.

The closures are scheduled to commence on 7th September 2026 for 45 days (works to be completed in phases), or where stated on a valid permit (AZ5011001529662 & AZ5011001465603 – Cadent Gas). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closures are required for the safety of the public and workforce while gas main replacement works are undertaken by Cadent Gas.

Alternative routes are available via:

1. B1369, B1441, B1442 and vice versa.

2. Chilburn Road and onto diversion 1.

The Order will come into effect on 20th August 2026 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Little Clacton Weeley Bypass, Weeley/St Osyth/ Little Clacton)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Little Clacton Weeley Bypass, Weeley/St Osyth/Little Clacton in the District of Tendring, from the junction of Colchester Road Roundabout to the junction of Bovills Roundabout a distance of approximately 5055m. The closure is scheduled to commence on 1st September 2026 for 1 night (20:00-07:00), or where stated on a valid permit (EP201EH2397539, EP20124609732 & EP201EP20124609732/92 – Essex County Council). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while footbridge inspection works are undertaken by Essex County Council.

An alternative route is available via B1442, B1441, A133 and vice versa.

The Order came into effect on 6th August 2026 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
