What is happening?

THE ROYAL BOROUGH OF KENSINGTON AND CHELSEA
TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE (LANSDOWNE WALK) 2026

The Council of the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea give notice that they intend to make a Temporary Traffic Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 Schedule 1 Section 14 (1)(a) and all other enabling powers prohibiting motorised vehicles from proceeding or waiting in roads cited below.

Lansdowne Walk to be closed from the junction with Ladbroke Grove to the junction with Lansdowne Road.

The road is to be closed to facilitate crane works.

The restrictions will come into force from 08.00hrs on Wednesday 26th August 2026 until 18.00hrs on Friday 28th August 2026, or until completion of the works, whichever is sooner. Back-up dates of Wednesday 2nd September until Friday 4th September.

Diverted through traffic may use Ladbroke Grove, St John's Gardens, Clarendon Road, Lansdowne Walk, Lansdowne Road and Ladbroke Road.

Access will be maintained for residents and occupiers.

Nothing in this Order shall apply to:

• anything done with the permission of, or at the direction of, a police constable in uniform.
• anything done in connection with the execution of said works.
