Effect of the order: To temporarily introduce prohibition of traffic on various roads in the City of Colchester as below. Access for residents and business will be maintained wherever possible under steward or traffic marshall supervision.

The restrictions are scheduled to commence on 20 August 2026 to 29 August 2026 between the hours of 12:00 and 23:59 each day or where appropriate signs are showing and weather permitting. This is required for the safety of the public while Colchester Summer Series take place.
The Orders will come into effect on 20 August 2026 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the Events have finished.

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Birchwood Road, Langham/Dedham in the City of Colchester, from the junction with Wick Road for a distance of approximately 705m in a south easterly, north easterly then south easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 11th September 2026 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (FN40626021786 – National Highways Ltd). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while structure repair works are undertaken by National Highways Ltd.
An alternative route is available via A12, Park Lane, Wick Road and vice versa.

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Boxted Road, Great Horkesley in the City of Colchester, from its junction with The Causeway to its junction with Holly Lane a distance of approximately 745m. The closure is scheduled to commence on 7th September 2026 for 12 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EP201EH2408126 – Essex County Council). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while drainage works and carriageway surface repair works are undertaken by Essex County Council.

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic &
Temporary Introduction of a Clearway) Order 2026
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order:
1. To temporarily close that length of Kimberley Road, Colchester in the City of Colchester, from its junction with Morant Road for a distance of approximately 25m in a north westerly direction.
2. To temporarily introduce a ‘No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping’ from its junction with Morant Road for a distance of approximately 430m in a north westerly direction for the duration of the closure only.
The Essex County Council (Colchester Borough) (Prohibition of Waiting, Loading and Stopping) and (On Street Parking Places) (Civil Enforcement Area) Consolidation Order 2019” will be temporarily amended to include the temporary ‘No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping at Any Time’ restriction and suspend any existing parking and waiting restrictions on the above length of road only. All other restrictions and exemptions contained in the aforementioned Order and Amendments to that Order shall remain in force.
The closure/clearway is scheduled to commence on 9th September 2026 for 2 days, or where stated on a valid permit (YN12013575-P-231916-WK32 – T Mobile). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure/clearway is required for the safety of the public and workforce while duct laying and cabling works are undertaken by T Mobile.

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close those lengths of road in the City of Colchester, as detailed in the Schedule.
The works are scheduled to commence after 20th August 2026, as stated on a valid permit. The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.Network. The roads will be closed to facilitate each phase and then re-opened to the public. Access will be maintained for emergency services. Diversion routes will be signed at each location and residents will be informed of the dates of each phase via letter/leaflet drop and advanced warning signs on the road.
