(Temporary Prohibition of Loading and Waiting) (No.144) Order 2026

Notice is hereby given that Portsmouth City Council intends to make the above Order under Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991.
The Order comes into operation from 1st September 2026 and the effect will be as follows:
A) TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE AND PROHIBITION OF LOADING AND WAITING

From its junction with Kingston Road to its junction with Copnor Road.

D) REASON FOR THE ORDER
To facilitate resurfacing works.
E) DURATION OF THE ORDER
From 1st September 2026 to 31st July 2027 or completion of the works, whichever is sooner. Notwithstanding the above, it is anticipated works will take place on the dates specified above for each length or road. If works are rescheduled, due to adverse weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances, alternative dates will be notified by signage and letters to residents in advance of works taking place.
F) DIVERSION
Vehicles will be diverted from:
New Road - Kingston Road, London Road, Copnor Road Vice Versa and Copnor Road, Milton Road, Baffins Road, St Marys Road Roundabout, St Marys Road, Fratton Road, Kingston Road and Kingston Road, Fratton Road, St Marys Road, St Marys Road Roundabout, Milton Road, Copnor Road;
Anglesea Road - Queen Street, Wickham Street, Clock Street, The Hard, St Georges Road, Cambridge Road;
St Michael's Road - King Richard I Road, Winston Churchill Avenue, Holbrook Road, Lake Road, Cornmill Street, Market Way, Alfred Road;
Park Road - Burnaby Road, Cambridge Road and King Richard I Road, Lord Montgomery Way, Hampshire Terrace, Cambridge Road, Burnaby Road.
Marketway Roundabout - Hope Street Roundabout, Market Way, Unicorn Road, Stanhope Road, Station Street, Arundel Street, Holbrook Road; and
Cornmill Street Roundabout, Lake Road, Holbrook Road, Arundel Street, Station Street, Stanhope Road, Unicorn Road, Market Way; and

Pedestrian access will be maintained around the works.
Cycles to follow vehicle diversion or dismount and follow pedestrian diversion around the works.
