Twyford Avenue - Temporary Road Closure

Portsmouth City Council (Twyford Avenue) (Temporary Road Closure) (Temporary Prohibition of Loading and Waiting) (No.143) Order 2026
Notice is hereby given that Portsmouth City Council intends to make the above Order under Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991.
The Order comes into operation from 1st September 2026 and the effect will be as follows:
A) TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE AND PROHIBITION OF LOADING AND WAITING
TWYFORD AVENUE (SOUTHBOUND)
From its junction with Twyford Avenue Roundabout to its junction with Stamshaw Road.
B) TEMPORARY BANNED RIGHT TURN
WALKER ROAD
At its junction with Twyford Avenue.
JERVIS ROAD
At its junction with Twyford Avenue.
C) REASON FOR THE ORDER
To facilitate water works.
D) DURATION OF THE ORDER
From 1st September 2026 to 2nd September 2026 or completion of the works, whichever is sooner. Notwithstanding the above, works will take place from 20:00 to 06:00.
E) DIVERSION
Vehicles will be diverted from Twyford Avenue Roundabout, Northern Parade, London Road, Portsbridge Roundabout, Western Road, Northern Road, York Terrace, Copnor Road, Old London Road, Kingston Crescent, Rudmore Roundabout, Mile End Road, Twyford Avenue.
Pedestrian access will be maintained around the works.
Cycles to follow vehicle diversion or dismount and follow pedestrian diversion around the works.
